Don't buy:
1. UHS-II. UHS-II's boosted speed was thanks to a second group of pins not found in most card slots. Further, their outrageous price and low capacity is also not suited for the switch. And I would suggest waiting for SDXC before buying any card.
2. Third-Party Charging cable. QC 3.0 (18w) is nothing compared to Nintendo's 39w charger. We still don't know the switch's power rating as a handheld.
3. Power banks intended for generic phones. The switch might consume more power than they can provide. As with the second one, wait.
4. Wired controller via. It takes up the charging port, enough said.
5. Shell/ Battery Shell: Interference with cooling can melt your console.
Don't have to buy:
6. Controller grip for joy-cons. They are great but not designed to travel with or stay on the switch at all times. Another great substitution is the joy-con wheels that come with larger shoulder buttons. Besides, joy cons are small anyway.
7. Charging Grip. Unless it comes with a standalone battery, using joy-cons separately is suggested. Should it come with extra juice that can power the joy-cons times over, however, it be a must have.
Suggested:
8. Pro Controller. However, Nintendo might add support for wii/ wii u pro controller, gc adapter and even DS4 and Xbox One controller in the future.
9. Screen protector. Especially for touch screens.
10. Carrying case. I am lucky enough to grab the special edition on Amazon. I might even sell the full package after launch.

Just a few words.

The charger and battery packs. I wouldnt buy just yet. There has been a photo floating around that the switch is a 15v 2amp system.
This mean the normal usb chargers for cellphones wont work as they are at most 9v while most are only 5v.
This goes for the chargers and battery packs.
The type of charger needed would be the type for the usb laptops /mac book. Therr chargers are between 13-25volts.

Next the screen protector IMO is a must. All my screens have have them. Better to be safe then sorry. I csn easily replace a $7-$20 protector but not the switch lcd.

The joycon grip.
You can buy all the ones you want. They hold the controllers and if they fill good then use them.
The charger one i order because it gives me an extra grip plus if the batteries happen to die i can charge and play. Or even charge while not mount to the switch when off.

And the carrying case. I was going to go all out and get a big bag one. But decided i wont take my switch with me like that so a small would that holds the switch and joycons would be nice. Then found out the zelda bundle comes with one so ill use that and see if i need something else or not.

But all this is to eachs own. Get what you think you need.

Also with current Glass Style screen protectors they should work great on switch without the poor quality and smudging

I only intended to get a pro controller at launch for LoZ. Doesn't seem like a game I'd enjoy playing using the joy-cons plus better to get it sooner than later once Splatoon 2 is out.

P.S. A Nintendo representative already confirmed there will be no backwards compatibility to previous gen controllers. Hoping for the other competitors controllers to work is wishful thinking, you may have a shot once homebrew is available.

Kimashima said he is considering backward compatibility.

I dont spend much time on YouTube but I did see some bozo's review of Splatoon 2 and they mentioned the screen was matte and not glossy like most phones. Seems a bit odd, maybe it was just dirty or had a matte protector on it. Would imagine the glass protectors might not stick as well to a matte surface.

Screen isnt mate. No one makes a matte finish screen as a default.
Im sure its ot was probably dirty

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
