I have a problem;
I set my HR to a specific number but when i finish a quest it reverts back to my original HR
Is there any way to fix this?

I made the mistake of not changing the hair color when I made a new character, so I wanted to change it.

I guess I'm SoL
Actually, the editor isn't pointing to the correct location when changing hair color, so you can export your character with the APM Character Exporter and change it by hand in hex (@ 0x280 - 4 bytes long). BUT. It changes the hair color on your character before you load, except it changes it back to the one you selected originally when you load your save. (So it's pointless)

So the question is whether or not we can find the "originally selected color" placement in the save. I'll look into it.
iirc, there's actually an editor for hair in-game (use the item box in your room) Not sure if it does color too, but it definitely lets you change hair style (if color is an option, it should be something like press 'y' when changing hair style).

You are correct in what you believe but whether you want to implement that as a function is another question altogether if you think about it.

your HRP and quest completion determines you HR. If you're below HR 8, you HAVE to do the key quests to rank up. after the HR 7 urgent is complete, your HR is determined exclusively bt HRP (note: 0 HRP is HR 8, it only goes up from there maxing at HR 999 with just over 4 million HRP - though HRP can go up to 9,999,999 max)

Hey thanks for this! This is amazing! I just found this a few hours ago and its the reason I decided to finally give homebrew a try haha.

Does anyone know if there are any more set lists for other weapons like those dual blades?! Those are amazing!

Change the HR point value.

Hey APM I would like to contribute a little bit to this thread, This post is about the best Elemental Dual Blades + Set to them. (So there are 5 sets) Dragon, Thunder, Water, Fire and Ice

The skills that all 5 sets have are the same.

Critical Eye +3 (30% affinity)
Elemental Crits (When you crit your elemental deals 25% extra dmg)
Razor Sharpness (Your sharpness goes 50% Slower down, so one could say you had 2x sharpness)
Elemental Attack up ( This is directly 10% more elemental attack)
Specific Element up +2 (Specific as in. Dragon set is Dragon atk +2, if water, Water atk +2) this is why there are 5 sets cuz this skill changes. what does element up do? it is also 10% element dmg increase but, in mh4u +2 would increase element attack by 40, since the dmg got "balanced" to gen, I think it's either +5 or +10. so if its +10 then this skill does +10 elemental and 10% more elemental dmg.

Now for the chosen dual blades.

Before I state them you should know these things.

The dual blades required slots for having these perfect skill set, so even if you realize there is a better dual blade, it might not be better at all because it would proly lack a gem slot, which would render them useless in this combo. keep in mind those DB's are best in a combo with the sets.

Dragon - Devil Jho, one of the two great dragon DB's, the other one is sagaru they are both close, but this one takes the cake. THIS IS AN EVENT REWARD DB Hyper Devil Jho is not released yet. so keep that in mind.
Thunder - Kirin
, kirin is the best thunder dual blade
Water - Mizutsune There has been a lot of close dual blades, but because of slot requirement, and the sharpness calculation etc. Mizutsune DB has proven to scale better.
Fire - Glavenus. A lot of people think "Salamander" DB is better, the difference between those two are that Glavenus has 30 more raw dmg, but 8 less fire than Salamander. otherwise, Salamander has 35% affinity but 0 sockets. Some argue that Salamander is better, but they forget, if you go Salamander, you lose a gem slot, which means your CE+3 will be CE+2. Because of that, the new difference would then be, 30 raw -8 fire vs 25% affinity. which clearly states that 30 raw is a way to huge so Salamander is a no go.
Ice - Lagombi - Lagombi DB is the best because of its sharpness + socket. there might be better ice weapons out there, but definitely not with this combo.

A lot of the sets looks similar, only the gems , charms, and kirin jacket is different, these armor, are the Highest defense value, so its best survival as well, what do I mean by highest defense value? A lot of people can find 1000 different ways to make a skill set, some might have 200 defense, some might have 500 defense. These sets I've created, NOBODY CAN make the same sets with a higher defense than mine. the other ones will either be the same, or lower.

These are PERFECT Elemental Dual Blade Sets. (Before you import, make sure you import them in a box space which is empty. I myself saved them on box 5. Equip them all once and register them as sets, then you can sort them again if you want)
Do you have sets like this for other weapons?

Another endgame armor set I can suggest is:

- Critical Boost
- Elemental Crit
- Repeat Offender
- Critical Eye +3

Hayabusa Feather
Yukumo Sky Dogi
Toka Kote
Toka Koshiate
Toka Gusoku
-----------------
+4 Crit Element, +3 Critical Up OO-
-----------------
4x Chain Jwl 1

That's 55% - 60% chance to do 1.40x damage, possibly 100% on narga weapons, makes your element do 25% more damage, and makes negative crit weapons viable. Straight damage boosters really fall off with endgame weapons and let's face it, MH's endgame is get-hit-and-instantly-die-anyway-so-max-your-damage-and-expert-dodge. Granted this doesn't work for bowguns/bows, but there's bow sets linked in the first page under ►Useful stuff for that.

Of course, there's Athena's if you want some earplugs or something.

EDIT: Forum breaks my spaces apparently.
EDIT2: Also, it's fashionable :P

I actually second this. Haven't tried armour building for a gunner set, but fundamentally this works for raw if you replace elemental crit with like pierce up or something.

I love sets like this.

I just wish I could feasibly get Razor sharp on them.

As promised: the save. Import using the Character Exporter over another character slot (be sure to copy over character data). Using a GC ID of 0 will not let your GC be sent/viewed, although no name can be fun (you're not announced entering/exiting online/local rooms or for actions like carting/etc. on a quest) but will likely get you kicked for hacking if the host cares.

Also note that while the Arena quests have been completed at S rank, the earring rewards have already been picked up (and were deleted with the rest of the equipment). Just manually add them if you need them after importing the rest of your armor/weapons.

I did hide a tiny 'marker' on the guild card. If you find it please leave it. I'm just curious to see if I bump into anyone using my save
Is the "character exporter" different from the save editor?

If so how do I use this?

Either way, how do I use this? Lol

The character exporter is separate. Look in the OP. Also, follow my instructions in that post you quoted (and the few before/after it) or you can easily cause a crash-on-load for a variety of reasons. Essentially make sure theres a weapon in slot 1 of the eqipment box and if you copy palicos, make sure the palico equipment box matches the original save's (where the palicos came from) exactly.

Anyone made a list for what decoration each number represents?
just place them in your bag/storage by name. You cant gem-cram this game like you could in 4U, so there's no point in using the hex IDs.
Also, does anyone have a list of which face is what?
iirc, that's one of the options in the in-game editor. The only things you cant change in-game are gender and possibly 'underwear' style (either that or voice... it's been too long since I checked). In any case, all character customization numbers should be 1 lower than the listed numbers when setting up your character for the first time.

He made another one specifically for monster hunter generations. You have to open it through homebrew, though. I forgot where you can download it, but I am sure that you can just google it.
