Which you're more likely to see when there's a huge new surge of people trying out ctrtransfer for the first time.
I actually did and I used the attached zip you provided, everything went fine here.
Although I did follow the steps from 3ds.guide with my biggest attention.

This brick had literally nothing to do with the exploits used. Chances are you bricked because you used the wrong ctrtransfer image or simply made a mistake at some point in setting it up. Either that or a bug in the software resulted in a failed transfer. Hope you made a nand backup.... Either way this thread is misleading because the exploit used to get the permisions needed for decrypt9 didn't fail. If they had then decrypt9 wouldn't have run.... The exploit can't cause a brick as it doesn't modify anything.... However what you did with them does have a brick risk

Guys, read the OP. He didn't delete Home Menu's extdata. It's not fault of anyone other than his own.

There are really few options for user error to brick with this step other than having the image for the wrong region or possibly a bad SD card.

It's definitely user error. Tons of other followed my guide and only problems they had were because of user errors. Most were resolved by simply asking in the thread. Some weren't because I'm not some sort of high-skilled dev (yet) like the ones in the credits.

Uh, it would still boot fine without an SD card if that were the issue.
Yup, also deleting/moving the entire Nintendo 3DS folder after doing the downgrade or al9h install would be the same as the folder would be recreated by the system.
Seems most likely a flaw in D9 CTRNAND transfer process.

@OP did you try accessing recovery mode to see if you can update to 11.2 and try again? Or it's also unavailable?

Please don't tell that's an ebay blue-light special card. Those things lie about their size and it usually causes corruption with large files.

I honestly don't think the process went wrong. 2.1 CTRtransfers are in no way new, and a brick has never occured if not by user error.
