DSiWare titles aren't used to access the HBL. You'll need an antrypoint such as oot3dhax or freakyhax to access the HBL. Your only option is to get an exploitable game. The cheapest way would be to get OoT3D and a Powersaves device.

And yeah, the browserhax workaround only works for New 3DS, apparently.

Well I am looking at the No Browser hack and it shows a list of games, of which few are e-shop games. I'm guessing those were all pulled though? Powersave device is not needed anyway, I have a N3DS XL with A9LH+Luma and my friend has N3DS with A9LH+Luma. But he wants to use his O3DS XL, and N3DS can't be used for sys transfer for an older DS ... Now of course if he had bought Legends of Exidia when I told him we wouldn't have this problem as waithax is out, but he didn't so he's SOL ...

He would be able to use OOT + N3DS to access HBL on the 2DS right? Or how does that even work? I don't understand how another 3DS with HBL can help you hack another 3DS with an OOT cart.

Digital copies won't work if you're intending to use another 3DS with CFW to install hax. Grab a cartridge of any of those games listed (except MHGen) that works on 10.7, and install the appropriate hax with your other 3DS.

The hacked system (aka CFW'd system, not Homebrew alone unless the device is on version 10.7 or lower) can install the exploit using the oothax sploit installer that's included in the Homebrew starter kit.

I could get Sticker Star for 14€ or OOT for 21€ .. which one would you recommend or does it even matter? Both methods (according to the guide?) can be used with another CFW'd 3DS? That's literally all that's required to then downgrade and do rest of the guide for A9LH right?

The 2DS is on Ver. 10.7.0-32E.. Just to confirm that's fine, right?

Yes they both can, but from my experience, I got more crashes with oothax+oothax installer than I did with oothax+Powersaves. You might have better luck with Stickerhax.

So just to confirm Ver. 10.7.0-32E. is fine for Stickerhax right? Also I tried googling but I suck. Where's the guide for actually using the game and another 3DS to access HBL on the target DS? And it does work when using N3DS when target is 2DS right?

Yes, follow what I've written below, yes.

Download stickerhax sploit installer and move to 3ds folder (not the Nintendo 3DS folder) -> Open HBL -> put sticker star in cartridge slot -> open stickerhax sploit installer -> follow onscreen instructions to download payload for 2DS firmware (choosing Old for 2DS) and system region (E/U/J) -> ??? -> profit.

Ohh .. so the hack installs the savefile to the cartridge then? I still can't wrap my head around the fact that most 3DS games in fact, store their save files on the cartridge and not SD card .. duh.

The installer will install the save to the cartridge. Yes, most games save to the cartridge (such as the Pokemon games), some to the SD card (such as Fantasy Life).

Sorry about the bombarment of questions, and thank you for your help. I swear this will be the last one .. maybe. Is there any difference between the original Sticker Star, and "Nintendo Selects"? The latter is cheaper, but will it work?

Yes, it should work. There is literally no difference between the versions, only that the Nintendo Selects copy is sold at a lower price. The same goes for oothax.

Hey everyone, hopefully my question can be answered here. I have a 3DSXL on version 11.0.0-33U, and I also have a SuperCard DSTWO Flashcart. Is there any way possible that I will be able to install homebrew on my 3DS with the flashcart or even bypass Nintendo's mandatory update whilst on the 3DS browser? Thank you very much :)

Sadly the answer is no to both of your questions. To have homebrew access you'll need to find an exploitable game (I recommend OoT3D and a Powersaves device), and even with homebrew access you won't be able to bypass the update nag of the browser (though you will be able to bypass virtually every other update nag).

I'd like some advice before spending any more money or just giving up and returning my Black Friday 3DS after Christmas.

Since I do not have one of the four exploitable downloadable titles, I'm unable to install CFW on the New 3DS. The other day I thought I had found an answer when I picked up a used 2DS at a local mini-mall. It's on 9.9.0-26U. Everything I had read was that as long at it's below 10.7, the install was pretty straight forward. Turns out, it's not. I've tried to follow the guide and cannot even get as far as I did on the New 3DS. At least on the 3DS I am able to load the Homebrew Launcher.

On the 2DS, the browserhax does not work. I do as the guide says: change the theme, reset the browser settings, scan the QR code but instead of launching the Homebrew menu: error. Sometimes it says a system update is required. Other times it returns a different error. For the 3DS, I could fiddle with some router settings to bypass the nag, but that doesn't work for the older system.

When purchasing the 3DS, I thought I'd just have to download a game and follow a step-by-step guide. That turned out to be false because all were soon pulled.

When purchasing a 2DS, I thought I'd be able to avoid the cost of a hardmod. Turns out the hardmod would have probably been quicker and cheaper in the long run. Any advice for what to try next before someone suggests buying a copy of Cubic Ninja?

Did you have all the files on the sd? That sometimes can be a problem

Instead of using a powersaves is there a tutorial to install oothax using a second 3ds w/ arm9?
Use the oothax sploit installer that's included in the Homebrew starter kit.

Access the Homebrew Launcher on hacked system -> insert OoT cartridge -> open oothax sploit installer -> follow onscreen instructions to install the payload for the other 3DS's firmware to the cartridge.

Warning: I've experienced more crashes with oothax+sploit installer than I have with oothax+Powersaves. It's very unreliable.
