Hacking Does the gamecube games data transfer if I copy everything from my SD card to another one?

I'm asking this because I don't want to lose my progress/data on my games if I buy a new sd card. I use nintendont.
Also when I installed the ISO from the retail disc of Super Mario Sunshine on USB Loader GX I did lose my data.
Oh yeah and this is for Gamecube games not wii games.

Yes, it does. As long as you use the virtual memory card, it will move to another sd card. I have moved my saves around many, many times.

But, yes, you can. With USB Loader GX, it was probably looking for the save elsewhere. Just make sure to make backups just in case it doesn't work, but it should.

EDIT: And even if you are using a real memory card, it should still work.

it depends where they are stored, IIRC gamecube save data (using a virtual memory card function) is stored where the games are stored..
if your games are in a usb drive, the save data goes to a folder inside the usb drive
if you have your gamecube games in the sd card, they are saved to the sd card
as long as you copy the save folder, you will not loose progress
another option (which i did) is buying a real gamecube memory card and don't use virtual memory card functions.. this way you can use the card in a real gamecube and it's a memory dedicated for the gamecube saves

edit: i was right, the saves will go to the same place where you got your games saved.
if you launch a game through usb, it will be saved in the usb drive
if you launch a game through the sd card, it will be saved in the sd card

Using the memory card emulation (MCemu)
Warning:
Enabling Memory Card Emulation with a card of 16 MB size might cause crashes in some games.
It is recommended to use 8 MB (1019 blocks) or lower for better compatibility.

To generate and enable memory card emulation, set "MC Emulation" to ON in Nintendont options and choose the size of the memory card to use.
The memory card will be created in /saves/.raw located on the same partition than your game.

as i said,
if your gamecube games are in the sd card yes
no need to move the entire thing, read and try to understand the nintendont quote and\or thread i shared...
the saves are in a /save/ folder, as said above..
copy\move this folder into the new place, and you will be ok

as i tried to explain, if your games are saved on a usb drive, the saves go there.
read the thing i quoted
it specifically says the saves will be in a "saves" folder in the same partition (device) the gamecube games are

I have my saves on a SD card and thanks for helpin me out.
