This is an easy question for you guys I'm sure.

I was using Gateway 3DS to load games. Now I've installed a9lh and Luma.

What do I have to do to install my 3DS games to use? Is it just simply grab a .CIA file version of the game and install the .CIA file using FBI?

The reason I ask is because there are less save issues using .CIA I think... Gateway creates a new save data on the Root of the SD Card for each game played, CIA saves differently right? That'd be helpful to know too in case I wanna back them up. It's hard with gateway saves as they're all just numbered so confusingly hahaha

I've read a little about eShop. Once the file is installed on the 3DS is it available to download through eShop as if it were legit too?

This is info I saw from a Pokemon Sun Download I recently saw confirming that the dump is legit:
theres many question about online, well i don't know for sure, this is 100% from my copy...
i just check (repair) my dump on eshop just to be sure
its say
"No Problem have been detected."

What exactly does it mean when he says "I just checked (Repaired) my dump on eshop to be sure?

Cheers guys! :)

I just got my 2DS system in the mail yesterday, and I'd like to find a safe method to install CFW. Which kind you guys should recommend to me? The system is on 6.0.0-12U.

I'm having a bit of trouble finding a file named aeskeydb.bin from what I've read in the guide carefully. Is it located in a zip file? Can someone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

Just a quick question to remind me. Havent used my 3DS in awhile and it's bugging me to update it. It's an o3DS

I have my 3DS with CFW installed. IIRC, I have to update via system settings, not the automatic updater, correct? Ill be fine doing it via system settings?

Yea, you'll be fine since you have CFW.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I tried that, but it took 24 hours and then failed.

24 Hours? Did you at least clean the "source" console up so that it doesn't need to transfer so much?
Also, it should never take that long even if you had a bunch of legitimately bought games from the eShop, very weird.

Hello.

I have a question and an explanation of why I want to do this.
I have a spare 4GB SD Card lying around, enough size ofcourse, but the reason is ofcourse for the regionchanging.

Why I want to do this:
There is that one game, called Ultimate NES Remix, if downloaded from another region, it says: "An error has occured. The system will now reset." or something like that. It happens when you boot the game.
Ofcourse I can play from my own region, but then you can't access leaderboards and videos from another region.

So I came accross https://plailect.github.io/Guide/region-changing , but it's for SysNAND and A9LH only.
I have some questions, and also if I need it/possible without A9LH, and WITH emuNAND.

So, in the guide it tells you to reboot to the said homebrew (GodMode9, DecryptWIP) etc,
Since that is A9LH only and you have modified files already (it tells you to boot into another homebrew), will this still work? I use MenuHax though.

Thanks in advance :)

saves should be same for gateway or cia since it listed by game ID on your SD card.
No to your eshop question.

I assume EmuNand set up?
I think automatic updater works since you'll be on EmuNand when it happens. System setting is risky since you have to go directly to system setting the first thing you do. Otherwise, if you do something in system setting first, like change date, then go to system update, you are doomed since it switched to SysNand.
I recommend to set up a9lh and luma cfw.

I need help here. I'm struggling to install the homebrew channel on a 3DS XL on 9.8
0 19E.

I use the tutorial on github. I download all the required files and put all the files on my sd card, change the name of the rophin file before putting it into my newly made menuhax folder. put in the URL into the browser. I can then install. When I get to my fw option I press B to skip as I already have this firmware. Everything goes to plan.

I configure the menuhax to type 1, press down on the d pad (+) then reboot the 3ds. However rather than booting into homebrew channel it boots into that last photo, I can get out of that easily enough by pressing the "A" button, the 3ds then reboots. I have tried rebooting quite a few times, each time, pressing down on the Pad (+) and each time it's the same. Any help and advice with this would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Very annoyed. I wanted to try out recording without my capture card and use this instead.

Any ideas?

Hello!
I'd like to ask a noob question as well.

I'm using the plailect guide for my o3ds(EU, I started with 10.5.0-26E). Everything went fine until the "Installing arm9loaderhax" part.
I'm at "Section IV - Restoring the System" and I simply don't know what to do now.
It wants me to restore my NANDmin.bin. The first thing to do is to copy the NANDmin.bin to the files9 folder.
I already had my NANDmin.bin in the files9 folder.
The guide wants me to open Hourglass9 and go to SysNAND Backup/Restore and to restore from NANDmin.bin. I don't see the "restore from NANDmin.bin" option.
I've checked
- the NAND size
- if my SD card has any errors
- if the SD needs to be formatted
- my SD card for a Decrypt9 file on the root of my SD card

Nothing. It simply doesn't give me the option to "restore from NANDmin.bin". How big of an idiot am I?
(Do I even need to do this step?lol)
I'm sorry if the question was already asked. I didn't find an answer while googling.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
