Hey guys. I know I HAVE to be doing something wrong. I've used this editor many times in the past and recently updated the game. I'm trying to use the editor now and it'll let me dump my save and edit it, but when I try to inject it back into the game nothing happens. I go back to my town and it is the same as it was before. I'm running an O3dsxl on 11.2 with arm9loaderhax and the latest version of Luma3ds. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure you're uploading the garden_plus file into the editor?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I had this happen to me once, turns out I was using the wrong file...

Yea, I mean there's only one garden plus file there. I deleted the garden.dat that was there before. Theres a few other things on there like character.dat, but I'm not sure what those are

marc, would you know where emotions and room sizes are located in the hex editor?

who knows where house size is in hex editing

I by no means speak for Marc who mostly makes the rules for this thread but from my understanding this thread has to do with the editor and its use only, not hex editing the game; unless the code editing in question is related to the editor... Many of us here do not even know how to edit code which is why we use the editor, so this isn't even the best place for you to ask this. Again if Marc accepts hex-editing talk here that is fine however personally I think that this thread was created to be only focused on the editor to keep it less busy... Thanks and have a nice day all ;)

So for some reason, it looks like the save manager my friend is using isn't dumping all of the acnl welcome amiibo files. It's only dumping:
._garden
exhibition
friend1
garden_plus
mydsgn1
updated

Whereas mine dumps:
cec.bin
exhibition
friend1
friend2
garden
garden_plus
mydsgn1
mydsgn2
updated.dat
save0

Hers is the one that keeps booting back to homebrew menu upon trying to inject the new garden_plus.dat. I believe this may have something to do with it, but we're running all the same programs, so I'm at a loss. Any help would be great, thanks. ♥

mine only dumps exhibition, friend1, friend2, friend3, and garden_plus, IIRC. none of that other shit.

ah okay !! sorry :c i can't seem to find anywhere else to discuss it, so i was hoping someone would know.

I tried to update one of my towns and I'm getting an error every time I try it:

"An error has occurred. Please turn off your system using [power button] and reinsert the Game Card."

I have multiple 3DS and the same thing happens when I switch 3DS. I tried it on a 3DS that hasn't been updated and the actual game file hasnt been deleted or anything. It works perfectly :O

I used the hacking tool to move villager houses around long before the update and also to get items.
Nothing crazy :( Although I once deleted my campsite using Leaftools and then had it built.

Posting here to see if anyone with a similar error managed to update their game. If not I guess I can just keep playing the non upated version on this file.

Most of the editor's code is been rewritten in order to fix the lag in Chrome/Chromium. This will also make it a lot faster when loading.

All bugs reported up to today have been fixed, but won't be available until the next version is uploaded.
Other features like editing campsite and normal caravan will be added too.

Is there a way to use custom patterns in the editor?
Yes, just click on a pattern and you will be able to import/export them. Use Thulinma's tool to edit them: https://www.thulinma.com/acnl/

That's because he/she used savedata_manager to dump another game. Delete the whole saveDataBackup folder and try it again. savedata_manager will only work if saveDataBackup folder has ONLY AC:NL files.
Can you make a button that gives you all emotions?
Yes, I can.
I've been using NLSE before and after the update and haven't come across any problems until today. It's pretty trivial but the new item "polka-dot wall" from Lottie's RV can be placed in my character's inventory but not directly onto the wall in a player or villager's home. I'd really like to place it in one of my villager's houses and so far it's the only item I've had trouble with.
It will be fixed in the next version, thank you.

PD: This is not NLSE.

I do not make the rules, but I wish this topic was used just for the editor issues. But after fighting against that so much time without any success, I think I give up lol
The more flood this topic gets with unrelated questions, the harder it becomes for me to answer and give support. Fortunately, it has slowed down lately.

So how does this work exactly?
I placed the extracted ZIP in my SD card, went to my homebrew launcher and only had SVDT and Save Manager on there. There doesn't seem to be any option in either to dump my save data, if I do try to export it I only receive 6 folders called (achive, edit, ghost, option, record, story) that don't seem to have anything to do with save files.

Anybody know what's wrong?

First of all, thanks OP for this tool and for keeping it up to date. It works wonders.

However, there might be a tiny mistake with the acre editor. I think someone pointed it out in the thread, but I don't know if you saw it.
I believe Acre 50 and Acre 28 are mixed up. They show up in the editor as the river going up in 50 and the river going down in 28, but once in game they flow the opposite way. I don't know if that happens with any other pair of acres, I just stumbled upon that because it happened to be the acre I wanted to use.

Thanks again for your hard work

the ram editor doesn't recognise the tulip topiaries i put in with isabelle. it doesn't have them marked on the map and they're not on the list of buildings.

Then can you add it into the next update?
It's not a priority right now. The purpose of the editor is to be able to do things that the game won't let you. It's not worth the time to work on features that can be unlocked just by playing. Also, editing those values can be dangerous

Huh... Looks like it's dumping another game save data for some reason. Which application are you executing in Homebrew Launcher?
Both the red and purple icons should automatically choose your AC:NL game (it fails for a few people giving them a Missing target error, in that case, you can use save_manager or svdt and choose manually your AC:NL). The red icon/save_manager requires A to be pressed to dump. The purple icon/svdt dumps it automatically.

Yes I know, both are already fixed and ready for the next update.

PD: It's not a RAM editor lol
