What should I do?
Currently I only have menuhax installed and i can't boot ctr-httpwn to access the eShop and install a secondary exploit
Should I update? I can't get an exploitable game until December, and Fieldrunners is probably going to be taken off the eShop by then
So should I update my 3DS or wait for a downgrade exploit that doesn't require DSiWarehax?

Do not update.
there's more primaries coming and new dsiwarehax shouldn't be hard to find should the need arise.
k11 and p9 hax are much more rare, and a few were patched in 11.2.

DSiWarehax installer was released by yellows8, but does it require the eShop version of Fieldrunners or can you just use a cartridge / ROM for the hacked save file?

Oh well. I guess i'll wait anyway, there's no point in upgrading my 3ds now

You got the update nag in the browser? If not, you could actually use browserhax, uninstall menuhax, use ctr-httpwn for eshop, buy fieldrunners, get steel driver: sub wars by the way, reuse browserhax(hopefully without getting/having the update nag) and install steelhax. Either way, you will need to get fieldrunners. And this could get you a secondary exploit. In case you don't have the update nag yet ....

EDIT: iirc there were some things you can do to prevent the update nag from happening ... but never needed it, so idk ...
