Hacking With all the new developments, any chance of Gamepad compatibility in the vWii?

So, like the title reads, we have all these great new developments in the Wii U hacking scene that leave me curious as to if we can now learn enough about the Gamepad to get it working as an actual controller (as well as screen which it can already do) in the vWii? Even if its just for homebrew, this would be incredibly useful for all the emulators already available on the vWii. My understanding was that it was always theoretically possible, but we didn't have enough information about the signal the gamepad gives/receives. If that is true, I'm curious if that has changed at all with the recent developments.

All I can think of is Wii VC injection

Yeah, Wii U VC/injection works ok. But you have to play in 4:3, you don't get the option to force full screen, which is especially annoying when you're playing on the gamepad. Of course native Wii U emulators will remedy this, and I'm sure those are on the way, but a great quick fix would be if we could use the Gamepad in the vWii, not to mention if we could also use the Gamepad for Nintendont so that we could also play our Gamecube games on the gamepad with the gamepad controller. there would definitely be some great use for such a thing if anyone could ever make it happen.

Wait...
Please tell me that's not true.

Please don't tell me the idiotic Wii VC games boot in 4:3 mode and not true widescreen 16:9.

Haven't tried every type of VC game, but this was definitely true for Wii U N64 and Wii U SNES VC titles. Looked all over for an option to force 16:9 but no luck. Sure, your actual tv may be able to stretch 4:3 to appear widescreen under your tv's aspect settings, but you're out of luck for the gamepad.

But with those consoles it's usual, 4:3 was the common resolution until N64 and onwards, some N64 games had 4:3 while others did support Widescreen.
Wii should be 16:9 full screen by default since the console did output in that resolution unless specified differently.

Could anyone confirm if the Wii VC games are in 16:9?

Oh yeah, Wii should be fine (it is fine actually).

I'm talking about older VC games that were 4:3, I prefer to play those in16:9 when I have the option, and I especially want to play in that aspect ratio if I'm going to be playing the games on the gamepad.

Well if is like the gc inside wii, then no. Remember, gc mode locked every not usefull hardware. Then they had to make a emulator from scratch. Nintendont.

Still, simply injecting the Homebrew Channel into the Wii VC would be more than enough to play Nintendont with the Gamepad, easy as that.
I'm just not sure if we would have to actual enter Wii mode with cafe2Wii enabled or if we could directly inject the Homebrew Channel into a Wii VC so that once it's booted it redirects you to the HBC instantly and then you have all of the apps from the wii available from the Gamepad.

Well I'm not asking if its possible. Every time I've seen it asked in the past if this kind of functionality would be possible, the overall response from the experts, the people that understand the hardware say that it is possible, its just a matter of having access to certain information and understanding how they function. Wii titles that can be download onto the Wii U are running the Wii title through the Wii mode of the Wii U, but they also allow for the Gamepad to function like a classic controller, so there is a way to make the vWii or at least Wii games to recognize the Gamepad as a Wii classic controller.

Even for games that supported widescreen? IIRC, no actually released Wii VC games handle widescreen. Which would be a pretty good reason for the emulator not to have that option.
We could in theory force vwii to boot OSv1 (the special vwii mode for eshop wii games) instead of OSv0
Of course, the main draw here would be getting that to boot while taking you to the Wii Menu, enabling you to actually mount the GamePad as a slot 1 Classic Controller with rumble without being forced to play Xenoblade or something. I'm just as exited for this as I am some way of mounting the GC Controller Adapter on the Wii U side, making the Wii think it's built-in GCN ports. Of course that will be harder, but still essential.

EDIT:

While some things are emulated, Nintendont itself is actually primarily a compatibility layer, not an emulator.
And didn't Devolution come first?

DK64 had a Widescreen option, but when you activate it in the Wii U VC version under the game's options it stays in 4:3 mode but just squishes the screen down. 16:9 just can't be forced on Wii U VC titles whether or not the real version offered it or not at least on the games I've tested. I understand that 16:9 may never have been intended for these older games, but I so much prefer playing the vWii emulators over Wii U VC/injects simply because they let you force 16:9, which typically just looks more appealing to my eyes over all the empty space on the left and right side of a 4:3 image on an HDTV.

Other than what @xtheman166 said, you could also theoretically patch cafe2wii about to not turn off the Gamepad. However, that would cause several problems of its own, such as needing to make a compatibility layer to read the Gamepad and translate the data into inputs before injecting them into a classic controller or something. From what I understand with the VC, it's probably better to go that way since Nintnendo's done the hard work already.
