I just wanna know if is just me or not. Besides the xbox one, every console with wifi has a 2.4ghz with support for b/g, is only recently that i found out that ps4 and wii u has 801.11 n support while everything else that isnt xbox one has B/G 2.4ghz. Xbox one has 5Ghz ac support. (correct me if i am wrong.)

While using these devices they seem to be very bad at maintaining consistency. I'm just gonna say it, i'm very disappointed in this. The wii u browser is a very impressive browser compared to the others but is just may appear awful by the bad wifi, 3ds rely on wifi and so does the ps vita, It doesn't have optional ethernet like the consoles do but it just as bad. It took me over 24 hours to download sonic and sega all star racing transformed on my wii u, and a week to download over 4gb game on psvita. Downloading some games from 3ds eshop, i somethimes have problems with it being it ask me to try again later when i know there should not be a problem. Is obvious the wifi in these things are bad, they have options designed for downloads over long periods of time.

I dunno why that is, i have a ac router 1760 with 2.4ghz and 5ghz dual band with great range. The router is approximately 15 feet away from my game consoles (not in same room) with 100% most of the time, and it has at least 50MBPS max download speed, i have good functional environment for it but just the wifi is baffling me to this point.

Using my android tv console it has 5ghz connection which isn't 100% but has no problems at all. Is flawless, web pages load fast, videos can play in 1080p 60fps with no buffer times, and downloads are like over 20MBPS all the time. The other consoles just have issues, i am not blaming the producers for the problem but it would be nice if they had better wifi adapters, it may have cost a bit more to buy the devices but maybe worth it for not having to wait longer to download play games or bad connections with online games.

I know is been said using ethernet is best option, but not everyone house is arranged to use that, and wifi is more convenient, routers usually support only 4 slots of ethernet, wifi is kinda way more, and also once again mobile consoles rely on wifi cause it does not have optional ethernet. I just wish this wasn't always a problem to struggle with. I hope others didn't have this problem.

The web browser sometimes stops, lags and freezes a lot before actually loading anything and when it does load, it has everything misplaced and stuff. As if javascript on it just got turned off or something. All the "increased user stability to enhance experience" doesn't seem to redeem most of the wii u browser. I sometimes wonder if it was the actual system or not, i dunno anymore, it seems to have minds of their own.

While both the Ethernet ports and the wifi in these things are junk I have NEVER seen speeds as bad as the one you claim. 4gb downloads on the WiiU take about an hour for me.(network adapter doesn't improve it much) I would run a speed test on your router to see what your up down and ping speed are and see if they are what you expect. If you are not sure post them here. I see your in the USA so we should both get around the same results so I don't think it's a server issue on Nintendo's side.

Do you have anything in your router, wireless access point that might be bottle-necking it? You might need to look in every tab and check all your settings.

Cheap wifi chipsets coupled with a poor antenna, often running through some kind of USB bridge bottlenecking the speed, especially if this is being shared with other devices such as storage. Always use ethernet whenever possible, use wifi as a last resort or for lesser consoles.

I can send a 20GB iso to my PS3 in a couple of minutes. Sending the same size file to the Vita would take around 3 or 4 times as long. Why? Ethernet.

Take a look at your Vita and disable the "use wifi in power save mode" from the settings and things should go way faster.
For the rest of your problems maybe you should take a better look at your router settings.

I have a pretty standard router (even shitty for the ones that couldn't set it up correctly), the TP-Link WR1043ND v1 and once I put OpenWRT on this thing everything went way better even though is nothing special this days.
My Wii U, PS3, PS4 (usualy is in my room wired but every now and then I move it to the living room), Vita and N3DS have no problems through wifi and I have a notebook abusing wifi 24/7 (and with that I mean that is downloading and seeding torrents non-stop).

If you lack the technical knowledge to diagnose your router you should seek help, you seem to have a good router but with bad settings.

Oh okay, so the preinstalled wizard thing doesn't help my router reach full potential huh? I guess not. I made sure to follow best setup instructions for my environment. Still i think is the bad network adaptors the systems use, also diagnosis wifi problems is not easy since i guess signal strength varies and connection speed alters depending on time of day. I mean i don't think any of you are wrong though.
