Have you ever made a Prank Call?

Title says everything.

In my case, all I did was to fake voices through the phone and one time I tried to put music alongside the phone, it didn't result well since the music sounded very low when you listen to it on a phone, I may have done some more things when I was small but until there, nothing interesting else to share.

If cold callers call me I will talk them in circles if I have the time. Especially love the "we are microsoft support and your computer has a virus" ones. Also fun is the amount of fake info I spew back to them has been resold several times now, or they sell it to new customers, and so the databases they use are getting to be rather inaccurate as time goes on.

Actually calling. I may have been party to some back when, random and numbers I knew. Failed to provide that much amusement. Much prefer knock knock run/ding dong ditch though.

yeah yeah, i know, but i was a kid, at least i just did it once and didn't took more than 10 seconds of call time!
loats of kids actually call an ambulance and find that funny... so i was actually a great kid!


not really a prank, but:
this number was calling my gf she was scared about being his ex again just to call her names on the phone, this dude changed about 3-4 times the number to call her..
so to make sure it was him and not something important, i used my phone to call him a few days later with this story...
*phone rings*
me: are you garry?
him: no, who is this?
me: tell garry i want my money back did you hear?
him: i am not garry, wth
me: ok, but tell him i want my money back, or i will go burn his garage down, he owns me 100 bucks, and i want them back
him: dude, fuck off, blabla loads of swears..

i can't tell the rest of the story (and i don't kite remember it, but it took like 4 minutes), but in the end it was the guy that was kinda stalking my gf...

That's no fun, they can be a source of joy for some people and also enjoyable for some comedy stand-ups, either way, the things I said were when I was little so I see no reason in being so annoyed for prank calls.

Whenever I get a sales call I fuck with them if I don't just get irritated and hang up immediately. I've also done a few others, but probably the funniest was when I prank called a gamestop asking if they had battletoads. They actually tried to help me find it and eventually recommended me a retro game store. The customer service was so good that I couldn't break it to them that it was a prank and just went alot with the whole thing.

I don't prank call people, but if I'm ever called by a number that's out-of-state I answer things like, "Dominos Pizza, how may I help you?". It's weird, but it makes me feel better about wasting my time answering some sales call. How do they get my number anyway... grumble

No GBATemp has been having pretty shit network connection as of late. People press Post Reply multiple times.

I do get random calls and hang up most of the time. But if it';s a tech support number or a "YOU WON SOMETHING FREE" number I open a VM and trick them in Windows XP or a Linux distro

There are some really good videos on YouTube where people have done that. One guy installed Windows 98 inside a VM and the guy remote controlling it had no idea what he was looking at
