Gaming can I use a micro sd card higher than 32gb???

I plan to install a lot of games on my 3ds legitly through the nintendo eshop as well as have games emulated with homebrew and such... will I be able to use any micro sd higher than 32gb?? I want to use a 64gb sd card for those needs until I crave more games/homebrew

I dont think 64GB SD/Micro have problem with New/Old 3DS

You cannot format an SD using system settings. Settings will only format your NAND (which you shouldn't do) if you want to format a 64+ gb sd into fat32, try this utility:

Alternatively, if you have a hacked (or 9.2 stock) console, you can use EmuNAND9.

Even with a PC though, settings won't work, because fat32 is not an option for any card above 32 gb.

I really suggest reformatting your SD card to Fat32 with your computer first using this program, then reformatting it with emuNAND9 for better results.

Windows only offers the options to format as exFAT or NTFS on 64GB SD/microSD cards. Use the ridgecrop program others have linked to above; I've used it twice wile installing a9lh on two different 3DSes (one old/SD, one new/microSD) and it works just fine.

You meant a microSD to SD adapter? Yes, those work well if they were well made, I actually use 32gb microSD with those adapters on 2 O3DS systems.
