I'm playing the original Pokemon Sapphire, and all of my Pokemon are extremely underleveled, i am battling the Lavaridge Town Gym, and every trainer has level 25 pokemon, while my entire team is like level 17 to 18.
Grinding wild Pokemon doesn't help because they only give me a teeny bit of XP, is there a better and faster way to level up my Pokemon so i can match or overcome the levels of the gym trainers?

If you have daycare on there put two pokemon in the day care at a time, and then find a mudslide
that everytime you walk up, you come back down, put something on the Up on the Dpad (so it holds it down).
so now your character should keep on trying to walk up the slide. these will count as steps.
so now just leave it with a charger, so now when you come back your pokemon will be leveled up at the daycare, and now repeat.
just make sure you have enough money. I forgot to get money once.

no need to grind to level 80 or something just around the same level as the gym leader.

Pokemon is the most easy RPG they is really.

in some other RPG's all you do is grind and grind.

Cheat.

If I can, I always turn on 2x EXP codes because I can't stand how stupidly grind-y Pokemon gets, especially towards late game.

For a "legit" answer, see above. Literally the only thing you can do is grind it out in grass or rebattle other trainers. As mentioned, if you can't handle a little grind then you might as well just stop playing. Use the poke nav thing I forget the name of (IIRC it has two different names, one in RS and one in E), it'll tell you if a trainer you already beat wants to rebattle so you can at least get a little more EXP.

Well it took me a while and patience, but i managed to use "speed" while grinding in wild grass and my pokemon eventually leveled up to Level 28.
But still, Flannery is hard as balls, she 1 hit ko's all my Pokemon.

count yourself lucky that you aren't grinding in RBY, it took me at least 4 hours to grind to be able to stand a chance against brock

I would say rare candies and those "STEROIDS" like attack up and stuff, but only the first games had glitches for infinite items and such so no good. Best way is probably fighting strong enemies, using weaknesses, and if not having exp share, then using old switcheroo tactics. Or maybe trade, or borrow pokemon from someone else? You could trade a pokemon, start new game, then trade it back it should receive more EXP if obtained in trade, the game will not remember the game as the original trainer since new information is processed. Is usually what people do when they want all 3 starter pokemon, but cause is not your own technically you run the risk of not having it obey you until you get the last bagde over the process of it level up faster out of the badge range until the last one is obtained.

Sadly i don't play pokemon games i can't play on emulators, cause then i can frameskip. :P

I feel you. Gen 1 was hard as fuck when played legit.

Late games are so easy now.

Do what I did, get a team of 6 zigzagoon, and grind on a route to abuse pickup (ruby and sapphire always have a 10% of a successful pickup being a rare candy). I did this and had a level 100 zigzagoon before doing much in the game (though I had the paitence of a god).

I always just only used my starter until after I beat the E4 :rofl2: I'd usually be in the 40's iirc taking on flannery. Grind to level ten before the first may fight and then catch 5 zigzagoons with pickup.
