Hi.
My console freeze ever time few seconds after i turn on, leave me to a screen with some tilt image totally frozem, both on tv and gamepad screen. Sometimes i even not have time to enter the menu before it freezes.
Here a image what look like, this time freezes rigth at the wii u logo, but sometimes i'm managed to enter the menu and do some things before it happens:

The thing is when i turn on wii mode (holding B on wiimote) the problem don't happen, i can play during hours without freeze.
Every time it frooze on Wii U mode i have to take all the cables and cords and wait a few minutes to turn on again, otherwise the console blue ligth start to blinking and the console wont turn.
I live in Brazil and dont have warranty or any Nintendo customer service nearby, but i think its not hardware issues, otherwise the wii mode dont work as well.
If someone know anything that could help i would really apreciate, perhaps a factory reset mode without have to acess the menu... (even if i managed to get to the format menu before it freezes, i'm afraid to do, cause if freeze during the process i will end up with a bricked console)
(Sory for my bad english, I'm braziliam)

o.O
Has anyone from this site have a solution for this? I'm pretty sure that a factory format would fix this. Has anyone know some method to do via factory mode like ps3 or similar?

That's so frustarating, i know that a simple format would fix but i don't have time to do before it freezes...

Factory reset didn't help me. But i have time to go to the miivarse and change there in the options to "English only". so far it didn't freeze but i have another wii u in case it will freeze again. Hope i wouldn't need to use it because i will lose some games and dlc that i purchased. It can freeze because we getting messages from miivarse that are in not supported language. So if you change to "English only" maby you will fix this. But it is strange because it froze even when i didn't have Internet connection. So i think it is a matter of time before it will freeze again.

Yeah! Mine does't even have a connection with internet and already was in english, but the problem still. I still believe that a factory reset would do because wii mode is imopecable.

Are they overheating? Wii Mode doesn't use all the cores so it can get by with reduced cooling.

Try sticking the Wii U in a fridge for a little while and see if it lasts longer. Otherwise try to blow out any dust that has accumulated.

Wii U shuts off completely when it overheats and generally only once a game is actually running. I had a dead spider trapped in my fan, preventing it from spinning once.

My Wii U has locked up a couple times on long gaming sessions. The screen freezes, it outputs a drone through the speakers, all controls are unresponsive, and only physically pulling the power will reset it. It doesn't happen very often (maybe three to five times since I got it at launch) so I just pull the plug and continue.
