.... really gone to $#!+

There used to be a time where Android game developers and device manufacturers wanted to prove that Android gaming could go neck and neck with traditional gaming. Now you rarely see a game with proper gamepad support and there are too many games, only supporting portrait mode. WTF?! It has been a long while since I was interested in a Android release. I grabbed the new Assassin's Creed game, Lego Star Wars TFA and then Sev Zero afterwards and I plan to pickup the new Riptide GT game but that's it.

Normally I would be hyped about new TellTale games but I moved the entirety of my modern TellTale collection to PC so that's out the picture. What the hell is left?! I know some people will gloat about how they believe that mobile gaming sucks but I hate seeing a platform go to $#!+ for no good reason. Remember, I game on Wii U, PC and Android. I know each side has their ups and downs but there is a reason why I have multiple Android compatible game pads. I'm sure I'm not the only person who wants more game pad games but developers these days are just dropping the ball.

Seriously, is it just me that is noticing this?

wait.. I thought it had gone to the $#!+ from the start..

on consoles it like 50/50 the good games and bad games

but on mobile its like 99% shit and if your are lucky 1% good.

the only games I can think which are _not_ ports on mobile is very good is the Rayman games.

if you can name games please do.

I just use a PS3 controller with Sixaxis which allows me to do mapping which essentially adds TONS of games that I can play with the controller and it really opens my horizon of options. Overall, I know it might be weird but I play way more on my old Razr M than I do my 3ds.

reskins, reskins of 8-16bit games everywhere....
for every android game that exists, there are at least a billion of the same exact gameplay, but different theme
and 99% is just basic programmed games that could be played on a mega drive if you nerfed the graphics and for whatever reason needs 1.2ghz quad core processors to run propertly

come on, my old nokia had gps, if propertly done could play pokemon go, without the AR (or even with the ar)

That's called 'lazy sod developers that don't know how to optimise a game right'

You had to exclude this from the title? That click bait. :creep:

Well to be honest, the google play store is like 20% hit 80% miss with the games. But what to expect? There micro games, the kind you would find in wario ware or game and watch gallery rejected console indie games. :P

All kidding aside, the actuall ones i find worth playing are console ports like sonic CD sonice 1 2 and 4, Final fantasy and such. But mostly i just use emulators. Not every android is like Nvidia shield TV packing that tegra x1 horsepowers of gigaflops and stuff.

Is a device with a touch screen, and movement sensors. Now if it had a controller like the Nvidia shield does. is different. Port PC GAMES TO IT. Metal gear rising, resident evil 5, borderlands, street fighter IV, the whole shebang! Stream pc games or whatever. :D

The most i can get out of android is game console ports, or paying that $20 for a square enix game like Final fantasy or dragon quest. Besides that, i stick to my emulators :P

Hoping dreamcaast and dolphin gets better, and psp, or ps2 port, or XBOX, 4K PS2 and XBOX games.:D

Nice to see people respond to this thread. My biggest issue lately is the laziness when it comes to controller support. If this was three years ago, I could understand but I simply can understand it today. With Nexus Player, OUYA, Forge TV, Fire TV and Shield TV all having controllers, the fact that any Android developer would chose to exclude controller support makes me wanna slap that person. My moto these days is "No Controller No Buy". That moto also goes for Steam games, unless it's a very good Hentai game.

There are some really good Android games if you are willing to look into the store. Square enix delivers extremly good android games like Final Fantasy Record Keeper, Final Fantasy Brave exvius, Mobius Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts Unchained X (Which I spent over 200 hours playing) there are really good ones like Out There (A space survival game where you have to manage your resources to survive in space). I had some really good experience with Android games. If you want to have quality, you should really visit the Indie section of the play store. There are some really really good games in there if you are willing to dig deep.

The reason it seems that the playstore is filled with shit is because that games like the infamous "Mobile Strike" are games that cost 5 cents to develop, but they spent 3 million to advertise it. I mean they even got Arnold Schwarzenegger to be in the commercials to this. They are everywhere, on every website, youtube and even tv. Many people spend thier time on these games, and they even pay money. And because of the huge ads, the game gets alot of downloads, so it is high in the playstore, and alot of people copy it. And that is a never ending cycle.

I'll look around humble bundle more often. I'm not frustrated with my current collection. I'm currently at a bit over 135 good Android games on my Fire TV. My general rule is that a platform needs at minimum of 150 good games to be a good platform. Dreamcast gets a pass due to its short time being officially supported. BTW that 135 number is a rough count it might actually be more.I just want to know that more controller enabled games are on the way. The new Shadowgun game gives me some hope. Ironically, Super Mario Run, does not. I guess Android gamers are simply in wait and see mode.

Gameloft makes some pretty sick games for the android/ios scene. I don't think a new game has been out from them recently, but they keep most of their apps updated with bugfixes and new content here and there.

So umm... anyone ever try drift girls? :glare:
Actually there is this one game call free bike race, is actually fun even though it rely on motion and touch controls, is kinda like that danger joe game or trials fusion..... okay not that great but for mobile is not too bad. Just unlike those endless runner games and other ones with complex controls on touch screen i hate.

Maybe try some MMO android games. One call avibele or something isn't so bad. It actually plays better on the Android tv since it has HD graphics and you can type with keyboard Is not a cheap looking flash game i promise, i hate those as much. :)

I was planning on getting Shovel Knight for Wii U (ya kno, dat Amiibo love). As for hunniepop. It's an OK game (have it on my Wife's PC) but it's more money management and less hentai.

I LOVE most of Gameloft's games. Hell I wished they worked on Wii during that last year. People hate on them for making clones but they are some ambitious sons of bitches and my hat goes off to them for trying may things with Android gaming

Drift Girls seems interesting. I'll be downloading it before the end of the day lol. BTW I have Avabel on my Fire TV. last time I played it, it had some basic controller support.

Well it was a joke, it just at the borderline of hentai. Android nor steam have actual hentai, you gonna need some import and maybe visit romhacking.net for some JAP to ENG translation patches :P

Asphalt console game anyone? :creep:

If you hate it, don't blame me, the face i made is probably why i said this.:ninja:
Also i seem to have no problems with my controller running avabel. Are you using the included console controller? I think it may work better using any kind of X-input controller. In other words a xbox 360 or anything emulating it.

I Also said free bike race :P
