So, on the 26th of August, my local Target and Walmart will be stocking a Mario Bundle New 3DS. The one with the faceplates, and that sounds extremely cool. However, I already have a New 3DS XL, so idk if it's worth it to buy that. So, I thought of getting a Vita instead. But, then when I think about the 3DS, it seems to be a limited edition (I'm just inferring), and the Vita... Well, the Vita seems like a fun system. A system for folks who want to play games like God Eater like me, but it's not a special or limited edition.

So, I'd like to ask for your opinions. Which would you buy?
A PSVita, or a New 3DS Mario Bundle?

PS: I apologize if this is the wrong section to post in. I don't really know where to post a thread like this.

If you have no Vita at all yet then I suggest you just get that. The regular sized mario new 3ds's aren't any more special than the plain XLs. I just got a Vita slim recently for about $160 and it's really nice.

Keep in mind if you get the Vita, you will also have to get their expensive memory cards to really do anything (including henkaku) so that will edge the price closer to $200.

Can you please elaborate more on what's nice about it? Like, what game did you play and how was the experience and such?

Also, doesn't the memory card for the Vita cost like 30-40 bucks for 16gb

Since you already have a nice 3DS I'd just go with a Vita so you can play different games since there's not really any reason to have two of the same system for yourself imo.

Well if you already have a N3DS, the XL model at that, then it gets real hard to recommend another standard sized N3DS. I mean unless you're really dying for the ability to change faceplates and have your device look as physically aesthetic pleasing as possible. I personally love my N3DSXL, and while it'd be nice if we could change the appearance of the XL model as well, I don't find that ability to be so enticing that I'd downgrade the size of my screens just for that ability, and I certainly wouldn't buy a second 3DS just for this ability. I'd personally go with a Vita if you have to spend money on one or the other, especially now that it look like the Vita scene is about to get busy with hacks and homebrew.

Yes. Considering the Slim vitas only have 1GB of onboard storage... and some games require extra data.. and updates... and DLC...
