Ok, i saw the other day that the new loadiine (the one for 5.5.x FW) finally got out, so naturally i searshed for dumped games in the next 2 miliseconds, but when i read that it only worked with DS cards, naturally i cried for the next 2 hours, because i dont have any big SDs, just a 32GB pendrive and 2 8GB ones.
Going directly to the point: What SD card should i buy? AND BEFORE EVERYBODY STARTS SAYING: "Any > 8GB card works, but Class 10 are the best to use because writing and reading and blah blah blah..."
What i really wanna know is what size should i buy? Because i just downloaded Pikmin 3 anHOLY JESUS 24GB???
But on sites i look AND on the wii u memory, pikmin 3 hardly takes 5GB, so my questions are:
What SD size should u buy? Will a 16GB one do? (I just want to store like 3 or 4 games at a time on it)
Will this 24GB monster i downloaded turn into a 4GB game or did i do something wrong? (it's a 24GB ".wud" file)
Sorry if this is a stupid question but i dont know too much when it to loadiine :P

WUD files are huge - you should be looking for Wii U Loadiine-ready folders that'll usually be much smaller. Besides, WUD won't work with Loadiine (AFAIK)

I use a 32GB but may upgrade to 64GB. Depends on how many games you want.

Edit: just noticed this is in Tutorials. Way to go.

All wud files are 23.3 GB, and none of them will work with GX2. Besides, why would you wanna use them anyways? The only files that work are extracted files.

So yeah, any card above 8GB.

So far I've found that Nintendo games are usually smaller than 3rd party. Nintendo games can be around 3-5 GB while 3rd party are often 12-18 GB.
I was using a 32GB card I already had but ordered a 128GB to be able to store some bigger games on it as well. Bayonetta alone is eating a big chunk of my 32GB.

You can actually remove files that aren't necessary, such as Language files (Which takes up tons of space), and keep the one(s) you need. For example: Watch Dogs is about 19GB with everything, i removed all the Lang folders except the Eng folder. It reduced it from 19GB to 6GB, i also removed a few other folders as well....and the Game worked perfectly.

EDIT:

I'm using a 32GB Sandisk Class 10 MicroSDCard; Formatted as FAT32 w/64kb File Cluster.

I would say buy a 128gb or a 256gb sd card because some games like super smash bros for wiiu are really big. I use a 128gb and sometimes I run out of space.

i use a 32gig but it is hardly enough for 10 games, 9 with sizes ranging between 1gig to 4 max.

and 1 big game (7-10gigs in size), i would recommend a 128gig SD card if you want more than 10 games.
and also if you want to play games big in size, e.g Bayo/Xeno etc.

Is it true UHS II cards are pointless because they actually give worse speeds than UHS I on the Wii U?
If they are also U3 does that play a part, or is this just another way of labeling UHS II?

8GB is fine cause you should be using your discs/eShop downloads to avoid incompatibilities, only thing you really need an SD for is Smash mods and that doesn't get anywhere near 8GB
You can't pirate discs or eShop downloads. That's likely what they want to do, and most games are compatible anyways (except online)

I mostly do it as a means to try out games and franchises I wouldn't otherwise be able to try due to financial issues :(. I still plan on buying games where I want to support the franchise (Smash, Splatoon, Zelda).

Its also easy to not get carried away considering online doesn't exist.

So nobody knows then?
My issue is games load very slowly, worst being Mario 3D world.
I know this is an issue for is game, but is it hindered more by having a class10 UHS II U3 card, than having class 10 UHS I ?

(Please no more comments like "UHS I, SDCX are not supported, only 32gb are" Or "no one needs more than X" because that is not factual. You can format anything over 32gb to FAT32 with a program)
