So I found a video on youtube, (it's very short, only 32 second long) and was wondering about the authenticity of the method described. here's the link:
also, another question I have is, has anyone tried this, and if so, what were your results with it? i personally highly doubt it's legit, but I'm a noob with things like this, and decided to ask anyway, to be safe, because as they say, "better safe than sorry." and as I always say, "you're either perfect, or yo're not me." That Non-JTAG thing has been patched and people have been banned for it.
Do not do it if you value your Live account.

Nothing like that even exists. I can guarantee that if you download the hack. You'll give your computer AIDS. You can not and never will be able to play "free" Xbox 360 games with out a rgh-jtag, a reguLr jtag, or a modded disk drive (which is the easiest one to do).

Back in 2011 ish, there was this method of injecting XBLA games into USB drives and loading them up with shared profiles.
I was refering to that.
DRM free XBLA games exist and DLC that comes from GOTY games n what not are also DRM free.
These you can play without having your 360 hacked.

Sorry to bump this but I figured it'd be better than making another thread. Sorry If this has already been asked 1,000,000, because it probably has, but can you get banned from XBL/console banned if you flash your DVD drive + play burned games?

If you don't burn and patch them correctly then there is a chance.
Best way to avoid it is to burn them on Verbatim DVDs and burn with a hacked iHAS or drive that's compatible with the Burner Max payload tool (built in the latest IMGBurn by default)

If the Xbox drive is compatible or my PC drive? Just want to make sure. Also, what is the highest version that I can flash my drive on? I saw it somewhere before but Googling didn't help.

As for the 360 it self, Phatties can be flashed without to much of a trouble.
Slims, you'll need some soldering or a risky Kamikaze hack.
There's a couple of FWs out for drives, this site has them cataloged (download them from xbins)

Okay, cool. Luckily I have a phat. And I meant dashboard version.

Dashboard version doesn't matter.
As long as you use the latest FW that is.
Older firmwares are detectable by Live and will result in a banned console.
