If you have an new3ds, yes! Just use the latest retroarch build and one of those is a full speed genesis emulator. If you have an old3ds then it runs at a little over half speed.

As others have said, Picodrive would be the emu that would work best for you on 2DS.

If for some reason you're not satisfied with that you could also try your luck with some injected Genesis games (found on those sites), but they take up more space on your SD card and require a reboot after playing.

Hi guys! I have the latest PicoDrive version on my o3DS and I still can't make the cheat codes work, I can load the cheat file (cht) and enable them but can't apply them, I already tried in other PicoDrive versions (PSP and PC) and nothing, I even tried with other games (Genesis and Master System) and nothing... any of you had any luck doing this? Thanks!

Make sure the port you use supports cheats as well as the core. Those are the only things I can think of, I don't have much experience with them since I don't use them.

are you on drugs picodrive runs most Megadrive/genesis games at a constant 60 FPS on my Orig 3ds and has done for months.

For O3DS:

PicoDrive:
- Master System full speed
- Mega Drive full speed
- Mega CD 30-56fps (game dependent)

Genesis Plus GX:
- SG-1000 full speed
- Game Gear full speed
- Master System 45-60fps (game dependent and enabling FM sound reduces fps further)
- Mega Drive 35-55fps (game dependent)
- Mega CD 25-35fps

For N3DS all supported systems for both Sega emulators run full speed barring Mega CD on Genesis Plus GX (which seems to run ISOs at around 40-46fps) and some Master System games which can run at 55-56fps on an N3DS with the FM sound toggled on. I think it's worth noting that on real hardware the FM soundboard places additional load on the CPU so the result shouldn't be too surprising - or that Picodrive doesn't offer FM sound.
