Hacking Sm4shExplorer (Wii U only for now)

I'm having two problems with Smash Music. For one, the VGM Stream fails to load. This one isn't as big a deal, and I already read it's kinda random in the troubleshoot in the OP. I can just listen to it in foobar.

I am unable to load configurations though. If I try to load it, I just get an unhandled exception. Here's the error I got the last time.

so here's a timeline of what i've done...

dump smash, open sm4shexplorer (v0.04), replace Pacland's model.nut/nud with this, build/pack, load with sdcafiine. works perfectly.

realize i don't have any updates, grabbed the latest update with nusgrabber and decrypted, copied to dumped smash folder, added a few more stage replacements, build/pack, load with sdcafiine. hangs at black screen before stage selection. i thought one of the stages might have been bad.

return to sm4shexplorer, rightclick/remove mod files, once again replace Pacland's model.nut/nud with this, build/pack, load with sdcafiine. hangs at black screen before stage selection.

no matter what i build now, it hangs at that stage selection black screen. any ideas or information i could provide to help fix this situation?

What's your error with VGM Stream?
Also, can you send me in private your config file, so I see what's possibly wrong. Guessing a special character somewhere?

Hmm, I'm probably just an idiot, but my modifications from v0.04 don't exist in v0.06, I'm assuming I need to do some kind of process to transfer them to the newer version?

Your workspace doesnt go away, the only thing you might need to redo is the unlocalization entries.

Should have said that you need to rebuild your config file.

So I got VGMstream working by switching to my computer but I'm still getting configuration errors.

I've been getting lots of configuration errors, even when I do less things. I would add a few songs, name them, add a description/source, set the series/stage group/source/rotation characters/behavior, but wouldn't be able to open up anything anyway. I kept pulling back on what changes I was making in order to try and narrow down the problem, but still to no avail.

Here's the latest change. This is everything that I touched, only added "601 - Koopaling Battle".

Saved, quit out of Sm4shExplorer, loaded up Sm4shSound again and got this while trying to load the config:

I started again and realized I didn't change sound test and stage edit order, fixed that and got the song all squared away. The config loads and it compiles now.

However, if I add any other songs, still changing the sound test/stage edit order and any other field, it once again fails to load the configuration. I believe from the looks of it that it's the same error.

This error basically means that the prog wasnt able to copy your bgm in the export folder. Weird. It shouldnt happe. But it happened after the mod building, so the files should still be valid.
Edit: Should be fixed. Check Sm4shMusic 0.3 in the first post

Im gonna try to get the bug as well and provide a fix :)
Edit: Fixed, was due to a silly last minute change that caused an unexpected bug during deserialization. Watch out for 0.06.1

Sm4shExplorer 0.06.1 seems to not parse correctly the meta file for Europe: http://imgur.com/a/0Aiug But then it seems to work fine.
It shouldn't matter but I have extra folders surrounding the needed ones. I dumped my game with 1.1.5 and so added _224_1.1.5 at the end of the name of meta, code and patch folders just to have some backup (without copying the big dt files) before putting in the updated folders (even if only the meta.xml file from meta and nothing from code is needed for S4E).

is posting in this thread the proper way to go about making feature requests? because having an msbt editor to go along with PARAM would be pretty great. i noticed sm4shsound adds strings to the msbt, and that's something that would be useful for melee.msbt

yes, posting here is the proper way for feature requests (or by going to the github page for sm4sh explorer)

So I was able to use the previous build of SM4SHexplorer just fine but after downloading .06 the options keep reverting to their defaults whenever I close the tab and I can no longer add anything into the project tree. Any idea what's causing that?

EDIT: After redownloading it SEEMS to be working fine...
