So guys a few days ago I got a New 3DS XL that is running OFW 9.2, I've seen many tutorial online about flash carts and CFW's but I don't really know how to proceed.

What I want is to be able to play games which I can download from online (arr~), I don't know whether to get a CFW or to buy a Gateway/Sky3DS.

I'd also like to play some PSX and SNES games if it could do that ;).

Can anyone advice me on what I should do?

P.S. - I'll be buying the Pokemon games though, I have been a long time fan. Other games I plan to just download.

Use Luma3ds CFW. But you'll need to set up emunand first. Also, I suggest looking into setting up a9lh sysnand CFW with luma3ds. It's amazing., and yes. You'll still be able to pirate

I can't seem to find any decent tutorial on doing this, most of them are really vague.

The guide I posted is probably one of the best and most thorough tutorial for setting up cfw. You can follow it up to part 4 if you dont wanna do the a9lh, but I recommend it.

Just make sure you follow it to a t

Wow this is really detailed, thanks for sharing. I'll go through everything once first before trying it out.

Fur sure. I read it for like a week to make sure I understood all the steps. Since doing it to my n3ds xl, I've installed a9lh on 7 3ds'

Good luck and if you have any questions about anything involved, shoot me a pm. Always happy to help.

What does a9lh actually do?
It's just a really, really, really amazing exploit that allows for things like:
- 100% boot rate of cfw
- much faster cfw booting compared to menuhax+bootmanager as it loads cfw on boot
- practically unpatchable from Nintendo
- you can get rid of emunand and have a cfw sysnand that you can update while still keeping the exploit
- you can unbrick from a brick without a hardmod in MANY cases
etc...

I give this guide to my friends too, and if they dont want a9lh, they have to go to part4 - step 18, (and setting up ctrbootmanager :>)
But I recommend the full guide ofc :P

The guide will still work, but if you mess up and have to use the recovery to update your 3ds, you will be SOL at the moment. Sadly, there is currently no downgrade for FW 11.0

So just try to follow that guide to a T and hopefully it goes smoothly for ya. C: If you have any questions when you are doing it, shoot me a pm. I've done a9lh for 10 3ds'

Well since you're already on 9.2, youre already mostly there. Just need to set up emunand and menuhax, then you're good. :D so this new update has little affect on you.

So I tried to downgrade my 3ds as you told me following the guide step by step.

When I started the downgrade process it failed halfway and I turned off (ass said in the guide)

Now when I turn it on all I get is a black screen.

Please help me T^T what should I do???

Your 3DS is running 9.2. The downgrade at the start of the guide is to get to 9.2. You don't use it if you're already on 9.2.

If you're having trouble with the downgrade to 2.1, what step are you on?

What happens if you turn it on without the SD card in? If you're using Menuhax, downgrading will cause this problem and you'll have to turn it on without the SD card in, then put the card in, then reinstall Menuhax.

wut?

OnTopic: Plailect's guide is the best and most detailed around, you really can't go wrong with it. Full bricks are usually from user error and/or not reading instructions/skipping steps, and softbricks are from not formatting your 3ds TWICE before downgrading, so you really can't get wrong. (Although there is a chance of your 3DS bricking even though you followed those guidelines, its very small however)
