Hi Guys,

Just got my old 3ds... Firmware version version 2.2.0-0U ( USA bought 3DS ). What would be the prefered way to get homebrew running on this device? Mainly focused on loading my backups..

I downgraded my N3DS a while ago and played around with CFW + EmuNAND.
Now I want to move onto using A9LH and just performed a downgrade check -- should I be concerned?

System's been working fine and had the EmuNAND play with no foreseeable problems. I did confirm that the 9.2.0-20U pack I used was correct with SHA and MD5.

Had it been 2.1 and with a browser, you'd been set and could have gotten your OTP and setup A9LH.

update to 9.2(if thats possible on 2.2, u may have to upgrade to 10.7 first) and do the a9lh guide

thanks!! seems under 4.0 doesent work. Updating to 10.7 although downgrading seems to be a pain. Any suggestions? I got zelda so thats something.. but no power save thing

I see you don't have browser on your 3ds... updating to 10.7 and downgrade following the regular procedure is the easiest option you have

You could wait for the initial people who do update. Or you can go ahead and update yourself.

Ah, thanks Cerise, I was just a bit taken back I just updated to 10.7 a few days ago, assumed I had messed up somewhere (partial update!?) so it was showing 10.7 but wasnt actually updated to full 10.7, guess 10.7 was out longer than I thought =D
I can wait, no rush. having too much fun playing A Link Between Worlds. I forgot how fun First Party Nintendo games were.

I have cubic ninja (physical NTSC cart) and I am able to get into the Homebrew Loader and run homebrew applications.
I want to install CFW on this machine and I know I have to downgrade to 9.2.
So my question is this (since most guides say you have to be on 10.x and seem to not mention older fws as a start point for downgrading):
Should I upgrade before downgrading? If so to what and how? Nintendo just release 11.0-xx so I would rather not use their official upgrade method.
Or will I be ok downgrading to 9.2 from 9.9.0-26U?

I have a newly formatted 64GB card so I think the filesystem should be fine.

I loaded HBL from my RedNAND and booted into FBI, used that to install JK Save Manager .CIA and now I get a black screen whenever I try to launch my RedNAND home menu. Did I break it somehow?

You can downgrade from 9.9.0-26U just fine.

I did everything fine and all.
But towards the last part , the part where it says update my cfw sysnand to the latest, my system version is some sys 11.0.0-33U, is this even normal? And for some reason theres a payload error on my homebrew.

Looks fine. 11.0.0.33U is now the latest version. As for your payload error on HBL. You'll have to rename the firm numbering in the payload file on your SD card.

Edit: For N3DS, that should be "hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_NEW-11-0-0-33-USA.bin"

Looks fine. 11.0.0.33U is now the latest version. As for your payload error on HBL. You'll have to rename the firm numbering in the payload file on your SD card.

Latest version of what? OTPHelper? What's your entry point? How many times did you try opening OTPHelper?
