Mine has the same, a built in mic and a dual headphone/mic jack. The problem is that "most" of those dual jacks on Laptops are 3-pole 3.55mm Jacks which can only support ONE audio in/out at a time. The ones with the headset mic icons are 4-pole 3.5mm jacks (the same ones smartphones use) and will support audio in and audio out on the same port. Other wise you need to purchase a 3-pole to 4-pol3 3.5mm adapter. Something like this: View attachment 47157
I think I'm gonna try the 4 pole one, I bought a 3 pole not knowing. I'll keep you updated, thank you. Do you use the 4 pole 3.5mm aux cord

Can someone tell me the best settings for the client? And why can't I record pokemon, I tried to write that weird text but nothing happens.
Thank you. :)

No mine is 3-pole Male-to-male. I use it on a PC that has an actual "line in" source as well as a separate 3.5mm jack for mic and headphones.

My first try at streaming a game, from my 6 year old Linux laptop. I can tell it is worse frame rate then just recording using OBS but not too bad.

Trying for any shiny right now

are you using a pc or laptop for recording

if i have an aux cord running from the 3ds to my computer could i record the audio from the 3ds separately, then add it to the video in post?
or.. if i use the aux cord like a microphone(?) could i just record it all together?

Second. You run the Aux to the microphone port then turn on "listen to this device" in your sound settings for the microphone, then everything from the 3DS will be played on your speakers/headphones and be recorded as usual
