Homebrew Can I play GBA from EmuNAND only?

Is there a way using AuReinand (Preferred) or RxTools to play GBA VC games installed only to EmuNAND without having to install it to SysNAND also? I read about the patched agb_firm in AuReiNand, but it doesn't work properly in EmuNAND. If that's is not possible, is there a way to install to SysNAND from EmuNAND? I tried switching destination using FBI but I guess that installs to the actual NAND partition and I wound up with a black icon. If anyone wonders why is because I want to setup a noob friends 3DS so he doesn't need to use SysNAND at all.
Note that I know about A9LH, but I don't want to do it.

Sadly no you need to install it to both.
Its not too hard to get al9lh ATM with all the tutorials.

Thanks for the response. I know A9LH is not that hard, but is for my friends, I already hacked their 3DS's some time ago with MenuHax + AuReiNand but since they are kinda noob I am trying to avoid the need for them to enter SysNAND for any reason. And A9LH-ing all their 3DS would be too tedius.

Right I get ya.
Once you have installed it with updated Sysnand it'll be super simple for them to use though.

Keep in mind that even if you do need to install them on both NANDs, the games can be played via emuNAND, so you won't need to access sysNAND anymore after installing VC content there.
Think of it as a one-time setup.

Yeah, I am aware. But still I want to avoid them entering SysNAND in case they screw something up.

Ah, I misunderstood your question, sorry.
Easiest way I can think of would be to configure a complex button combo for Menuhax, so that it would only go to sysNAND if you held down said key combo, but I guess that wouldn't be fool-proof.

Using sysnand with a9lh is literally safer and more noob-friendly than emunand without a9lh. You would be doing him a huge favor if you changed his system over to a9lh.

When you boot into agb_firm the system reboots, into Sysnand. It then loads the game from Sysnand and crashes if it doesn't exist. You can't load cfw cos menuhax won't load cos the homemenu never loads.

If you need, you can save some MB by having a forwarder in emuNAND pointing at the game instead of installing the game twice on both NANDs. But even then, due to how the system handles VC, you'll need the game installed in sysNAND.

All traces of cfw are lost when you reboot so it would be really hard to do.

Retroarch (mGBA or gpSP) for O3DS is unsufferable. Anyways, it's ok, I was just asking in case. Thanks for the help guys.

OK one last suggestion - linked nands. They would just have to put up with the unwrapping bug and not go into data management on sysnand (and they won't ever go to sysnand so that should be OK)

The linked Nands may actually be a good idea. Would the unwrapping bug still happen if they never enter SysNAND or only if they do enter Sysnand? On a related note, the GBA VC titles are installed to the SysNand profile in the Sd, right? Not in the actual 3DS Nand storage. Becasue I remember reading somewhere that you can only install some titles because of the limited space in Nand (or maybe he was talking about DSiWare.

Concluding from posts I've read these days, the emuNAND doesn't redirect the AGB_FIRM now, so the system need to reboot to sysNAND's AGB_FIRM. (maybe I get it wrong)
