For some reason, I have a sky3ds+ and no matter what sd card or pc I use, it's showing as an usb drive.
With the white usb cable it comes with
I'm not using it to transfer games. I have a gateway as well, I'm not new to flashcards. As far as I know, it shouldn't show as a usb drive when plugged up. It should just be plugged in for updating the firmware. That's what I've been trying to do, but it just shows as a usb drive instead of updating/using the firmware.bin.dude, get a microsd adapter. that thing is slow to transfer
like 100kbps
also, what should it show up as normally? shouldnt it show up as usb storage so you can transfer games to it?

I've done that many times. I used multiple sd cards and usb ports. Nothing but the firmware.bin on the card but it does not update or use the bin. All it does is show as a usb device on the pc.Did you by chance read this?

I think I read that you just need to put firmware.bin file on micro sd card in sky3ds+ and insert it in console (no need to connect usb cable), after few seconds it will start led blinking by itself which means it started flashing firmware. Once it is done you should delete firmware.bin file.I've done that many times. I used multiple sd cards and usb ports. Nothing but the firmware.bin on the card but it does not update or use the bin. - Format sd card (64kb, FAT32)
- place firmware.bin on the SD directly using sd adapter on PC
- place SD in Sky3ds+
- plug up sky3ds using the provided usb cable
- it flashes for a few seconds and stops. But at this point, it's just being read as an USB drive instead of update the card.
I've done this multiple times and outta nowhere, it's working again. Thanks everyone, for your time and help!you dont need to do any flashing
all you need to do is download the files from the sky3ds site, copy them to the microsd card, and thats it
it should detect the .3ds files on the microsd card when you pop it into your 3ds
Thank you though I already stated that I used the supplied cable. Also if you could read from my sig, I'm actually a reseller myself. I just like to be able to say that I use my product as well as sell them. That way, if one of my customers has the same problem down the line, I might be able to better help them. When you buy Sky3ds+, you should receive a USB cable with the package.
Because Sky3ds+ compatibility is poor, it is best to use Sandisk memory cards.
My Sky3ds+ is brought from Gamezway.com work very well on my new 3DS console, suggest it for you.
