Hey folks!
I recently dug up my old Wii and found the SD card missing out of it. Hooked it up and HBC runs fine, but Bootmii no longer loads. I made a backup of most of my apps on a buffalo drive, so I loaded SNES9GX to see if it still worked OK and it did. As far as I can remember, I had D2X v10 installed(I could run BO1 off CFG Loader), Dios Mios latest version(games ran off USB and Disc Drive still worked), and CFG Loader ran great with everything. I guess my questions are...
1. I'd rather not redo Letterbomb since HBC works fine, can I just replace the Bootmii files on my SD card? And where I can find them?
2. Since I've already installed DM, and D2X latest version, those are on the NAND and should be fine, right?
3. I'd like to re-install CFG Loader, but I seem to only have r70 in my buffalo drive. Does it update to R70V65 or whatever for full DM support and whatnot?

Any advice is highly appreciated!!

If you just want to play Luigi's Mansion, you should just download the latest nintendont and pop an ISO of the game on your SD card or USB drive.
Dios Mios has been deprecated in favor of Nintendont in the past couple years.
Note that it is possible to use Nintendont in USB loaders as well, as long as the loader supports it.

Well, as you can see I've got it up and running just fine. Tbh I don't really see any reason to go to Nintendont. As I've watched the scene since 2011, people started switching their GameCube support to Nintendont from Dios Mios, and I've never understood why. Other than for vWii, why switch? If it ain't broke don't try and fix it...
Maybe someone can clarify the reasoning behind switching for me. I like having all of my games in a single GUI. GC, or Wii, if it's all accessible through CFG, why switch? Just my way of thinking.

Now I still haven't figured out Bootmii. I'd like to get a backup of this working NAND before I undoubtedly run into a stack dump error that bricks mii lol!

What makes it better? Not trying to troll here, but as I said. It works fine and runs all of my GC backups perfectly. Does it improve video quality on the Wii? I don't see how considering component cables have limited resolution capability. I know it has increased controller compatability. I can see that being a step up, but not enough to make me want to switch considering I've already had a couple GC controllers for awhile now just for playing GC games on the Wii. These may seem odd questions to ask for elaborations on, but I have an idea I'd like to start here in my hometown. We have a local bar themed towards retro video game fans and collectors. It's called 8-bit. They encourage people to bring a TV, and a console, and drink up while they play their favorite games. I'd like to start a Super Smash Bros weekly tournament there. My idea is to use homebrew Wii's, with actual GC controllers and run a 12 week point system. If Nintendont has better performance than DM, I'd use that instead. As it stands, I haven't seen any reason to switch, other than it's "trending"...

Dios Mios doesn't support audio streaming games
runs in the much more limited GC mode
loads slower because of that
doesn't have wiimote support
has bad memory card emulation features
has worse progressive scan patching
has worse compatibility

In my experience Nintendont has better support/compatibility for more games. I would try and run it on Dios Mios and it wouldn't run or crash on some games but Nintendont loaded them just fine. Idk if Dios Mios has support for loading out of region games but Nitendont does and has the option to fix the flickering screen for out of region games. That is my reasoning.

Specifically for competitive Smash, Nintendont doesn't glitch the audio when accurate disc read timings are used, and memcard emulation just works better overall. Also doesn't require anything to be installed to use.
But if you already have DIOS MIOS and it works well enough for you, by all means continue using it.
