1.Is there a certain way to format my sd card? I heard something about some type of partition
2.I understand to leave wifi on both emu and sysnand because you cannot go into wifi, however is it true you brick your n3ds if you close the lid while on 2.0?
Thank you guys!
If you plan on using emuNAND you don't need to touch the SD at all really.
Part of the OTP process is making an original non-A9 sysnand and emunand backup.
Once you have OTP, just use OTP helper to restore sysNAND and emuNAND back to the way it was. Then all you have to do is find your CFW of choice, place the arm9loaderhax.bin in the root, and boot to HBL on sysNAND and use SafeA9Installer to install A9 on the system.
If you're using AuReiNAND, it's pre-configured to boot straight to emuNAND if you don't use any options.
Once A9 is installed and you have your CFW, it should boot straight up to your existing emunand, no extra work required.
As far as #2, I've closed the lid and no brick. Then again, you're in 2.1 for all of maybe 3 minutes to grab OTP before restoring your system. The only important thing is after downgrading to 2.1, pull the SD card out and then boot the system. Once you're on the home menu, then you can pop the SD back in and carry-on with the OTP grabbing.
Edit: If you're going the updatedsysNAND route, the guide covers that pretty simply. Involves backing up a few elements from emuNAND and injecting to sysNAND. Though instead of formatting the card and messing around with things, I found it easier just to use a partition manager and extend out the partition to overwrite the emunand partiton. Either way works, and a backup is a good thing to have.
