So I have A9LH installed to my O3DSXL and for the time being I have been using an emunand with AuReiNand and it has worked just fine. I know I can inject my emunand into my sysnand with A9LH and keep my mod with no worries on that front, but I am wondering what are the advantages of moving directly into my sysnand?

Reclaiming 2 GB of SD space (eh)
GBA games (if you partake) only need to be installed on sysNAND (eh)
sysNAND boots like 5 ish seconds faster (eh)

Advantages (sure) are any of these advantages deal breakers (not so sure but you will find plenty of opinions starting with mine).

Be cool vote emuNAND for CFW President and let sysNAND settle for Vice President.

I guess another viewpoint would be how many people have bricked their 3DS by jacking up emuNAND? Should be a very miniscule number like maybe 0.

I know this setup is not ideal for everybody but here is mine:

A9LH (Fix94 fork) utilizing arm9select to boot into AuReiNand 3.8.1 emunand (default.bin). Hold L at boot to firmlaunch into 9.0 sysNAND for my homebrew launcher needs (yellows8 hblauncher_loader cia installed on sysNAND). Press R and menuhax boot Gateway (yeah I know we are a dying breed). It takes about 13-14 seconds to boot emuNAND to 9 ish to boot sysNAND. Arm9select by @FIX94 gives me instant access to Uncart for dumping my carts and Decrypt9 for decrypting/NAND stuff. And as I always do, big thanks to all the devs who make this possible. You're job seems thankless (what have you done for me lately) at times (unfortunate event someone bricks), but that's the dev's circle of life.

I have actually been thinking of doing some VC stuff (mostly injecting my own GBA roms into GBA VC games) and I have always been unsure about how to go about that on an emunand. Is there a guide floating around by chance that explains this process? The "using VC games on emunand" part.

Even if sysNAND brick, A9LH still will be installed, so just run Decrypt9 (A9LH version) and restore your sysNAND
It's 100% safe (since you use a CFW that blocks FIRM0/1 writing)

Just remember to do a sysNAND backup every time you chance something =D

Well remember that it is very very tedious to backup and restore sysnand . With emunand its blazing fast and also the security if N does some treachery and the fact that you can use rxtools so region free!!!

There is the chance Ninty has some wild cards up their sleeves (albeit temporary...stops to think about pre 9.6 emuNAND on N3DS).

sysNAND all the way!

EmuNAND becomes useless (especially now that D9 fully works on A9LH).
People are scared they think their sysnand can be bricked, but it can be fixed just like with emunand.

I asked some knowledgeable about this, they said Nintendo can't and will not patch A9LH. Even if they got close to it, you can simply restore a sysnand backup with A9LH, same way you would with emunand.

Yeap, looks like that A9LH use a arm9 kernel exploit, so only changing the hardware it would be pached

I agree with some of @Supster131 points (except emuNAND is useless insert sobbing sound cause I like my emuNAND), each user needs to make an informed decision by asking questions and deciphering the replies to make a decision that works best for them. I love all my A9LH comrades even the updatedsysnand types. LOL.

what are the exclusive possibilitys a9lh has what can and could it do in the future that the others cant?

Well, since the A9LH grant us arm9 kernel access even in the up-to-date firmwares, we could do homebrews that use all the 3DS potential that it can give us (maybe even a homebrew launcher that can give all potential even for the 3dsx homebrews)

so that means full controll of n3ds power and ram?

Nintendo already lost the 3DS family console till now, only making a new one (maybe New New 3DS LOL) with some hardware differences they will patch the kernels exploits
