I bought my gw card one year ago, and now it's a bit obsolete. Anyway it's very comfortable to put roms on it and play them on 3ds. It's possible to make a cfw that can use it, or a plugin for ntr?

reverse-engineer a thing that is already made by reverse-engineering maded possible by other reverse-engineering. i think it's funny, do you?
Lol:rofl: Anyway, I think that's hard REing their payload but not the gw card. It's only a card, in the end.

Yes, I know. But someone can reverse engineer it I hope.

I doubt anyone will try it since reverse-engineering is not an easy task (at all), and as we already have pretty much all the features of GW on our CFW (who are open-source, free and really inovative, unlike the former), it would be a really hard task for not much...

I don't think reing a gw card is as hard as reing their payload.

If this was easy to do then it would have been done already.
Might as well make it read ROMs directly from the SD card then, it would be just as easy.
Though I certainly wouldn't mind being able to use the GW cart in any CFW, since there are a couple of things that GW is missing (a9lh and GBA/DSi support)

I don't think reing a gw card is as hard as reing their payload.
Just REing the card is not enough. Someone needs to figure out how to hook into and modify the cart read functions to read something other than what they were designed for. That's the hard part.

Reverse-engineering is hard as hell no matter what. Also, as I said, it's pretty much useless so no one will bother to reverse-engineer a closed-source product (and a lot of people doesn't like GW, including me) that will not even be useful. There are other things much more important and new to do with CFWs...

I personally would actually like something like this because I'd like to ditch using Gateway itself but still have the option of loading games from my 'extra' SD card in the Gateway.

Seems unlikely to happen, though.

I dont know how you see this but for me the gateway "cfw" is the most stable one among all cfws. If for example I scroll through games while the homemenu is still loading the icons cakesfw/(au)reinand/ntr/rxtool all tend to crash (all use same emunand). That doesnt happen with gateway. Of course it has its cons and pros but for me its one reason to stay with gateway and use it as my main cfw.

From my understanding the last reverse-engineered version of gateways launcher was below 2.x version. After they implement the mutlirom menu they started encrypting their launcher.dat and it is impossible to RE this without the encryption keys.

With gateway you can't load gba and dsi games.
If you want to re a software you don't need his keys, this is the main purpose of the reverse engineering.
