Homebrew just installed A9LH... think i messed up ever so slightly

yo.
so i just installed arm9loader hax and the installation went pretty smoothly, but i have a small problem. so the tutorial i followed had me install a cfw, but no emunand. this would be fine and all, but now i find myself unable to make one. i've tried to use emunand9, but it just won't launch.
I'm using CakesFW on 10.6.0-31 and i've got backups of my old emunand and sysnand. Any help is much appreciated.

use aureinand instead of cakes, hold L on boot to use 9.0 firm then use emunand9 3dsx, back everything up first this will format your sd card.

Here is a reply that I made in the OTP guide thread. (The wiki only changed to sysnand permahax yesterday):

So to anyone who is trying out step 5, I would like to note that if you don't want a perma SysNAND hax, but have an guaranteed EmuNAND, you can go into older revisions of the pages to use that guide instead (note that these are pages for when the guides were still separated, so don't choose the wrong one!):

I am not responsible if these guides brick your 3ds, shoot your wife or burn your house down.

i tried doing this, but i'm doing something wrong. holding L only makes the screen go black for me. do you think you know what i might be doing wrong?

Make sure that you have both firmware90.bin and firmware.bin in your rei folder.

i think regular mode. i wanted to try updated sysnand mode, but i have no idea what "/rei/updatesysnand" is or how to create it

Can I see the contents of your sd card? I don't think you screwed up installing a9lh. It'd be abnormal. I think you did something wrong with your sd card along the way. And I saw your edit, you need the firmware.bin and firmware90.bin from the place that you're linked to in the a9lh thread.

Edit: I need to see the root and the rei folder if that's fine. PM if you prefer and anything you'd like blurred.

You can't boot higher FW system files with an old FIRM, only the other way around.

Boot EmuNAND9'with a9lh (if you even can yet) and create an emunand, then restore it.

If you can't, you're going to have to downgrade to 9.2 to create it.

Make it from there then flash your backup.

If you can't, you're going to have to downgrade to 9.2 to create it.

He doesn't need to create an emunand. If he's using AuReiNand on regular mode, he's autobooting to emunand.

Hmm. I guess try gameking's idea, but if I'm right, you're using a boot manager as well right? If you are, I'd make sure that "L" actually boots to something.

Sure it'd work and did you ever download bootctr or something like that and put it in the root of your sd card? Well that's a boot manager and you have to configure it to boot certain things depending on the buttons you press.
