Oh BLAH, my Wii U still has 5.4...

I MADE A MISTAKE...

BTW, thanks @AboodXD for how to bypass the message.

Close this thread please. There is no point for this thread anymore.

The original message is here, if your wondering:

Let me start off what happened that started this tragic moment...

This is also an help question too, so follow with me.

So I dug out my Wii U which had 5.4, and I looked up if anything's compatible with it. WUP Installer? Cool!

So then, I installed the Firmware Spoof.

While the Mii's were running in the background (They were frozen though when I exited out the HOME Menu, so I thought that was normal), I waited for 2 minutes and 25 seconds and powered off my Wii U. Then I went into System Settings, and saw (TA-DA) my Wii U firmware spoofed to 5.5.1. But I can't access the eShop. I also removed the Nintendo Server Blockings from my Internet settings because it's firmware spoofed and I can never update.

I also heard of NNU Patcher, but it didn't work. Maybe it's only compatible with 5.3.2 systems, but I have no idea.

After a week, I dug out my Wii U again, and wanted to install an update of Minecraft: Wii U Edition, even though I don't have the game. I had my Wii U on the Internet Browser anyway, even though I THOUGHT it wasn't gonna update. But then, after restarting the Wii U at some point, it said this message that GAVE me an heart attack:

Your System Update is ready! Press O.K. to start the installation!

I was so shocked, that I plugged out my Wii U when I saw it.

After deciding I thought I was gonna go throughout the hacking scene but ending up failing instead, there was one thing I did.

Put up my Wii U FOREVER.

Cancel my hacking part of the Wii U, until EmuNAND comes out for 5.5.1. Or even wait a few YEARS. IDK really.

Well, goodbye Wii U Hacking. Hello Nintendo 3DS hacking (Which I've done longer than the Wii U), which is WAAAAYY better than Wii U.

No forcing System Updates.

No unstable hacks.

And best of all, EmuNAND.

Oh, and I have a question. How did this ALL start in the first place?!

NNU works on 5.4, but you need to run the OSDriver kernel exploit first before launching it... After you launch NNU, it should boot you to the menu and you choose the Eshop and it will let you connect. You can leave your tubehax DNS on.
As long as you keep tubehax dns set, then the only system update that can happen is from a disc update.

It's not very complicated and this is a really weird and dramatic post. You could easily get help in the numerous stickied threads for such discussions.
Everyone else on 5.4 seems to be doing fine ;)

I use to get this message a lot! All you need to do if it showed up is to NOT press OK and unplug your Wii U, open it up again and you'll find that your Wii U......... DIDN'T UPDATE!! :D. Do this every time this message shows up and your Wii U will never EVER update!!
Yes, even if you don't use TubeHax.

This is why whenever someone asks me "whait, you can play backups on wii U allready?" i allways answer, "Yes! but its still too technical, whait for a better method!".

Even though i know its easy, i just know a lot of ppl dont put the work to make it so.
Many people don't even want to read.. They want super easy peasy Youtube Guides.

Lolwhat? Are you that big of a user that you need to make a thread saying goodbye? You could have just asked the question and things would have ended better than this bad thread! It's a bad idea.

If you were able to boot without installing the update you could run the 'delete update' payload

Is this a joke or something?

Seriously: if you can't risk a brick, let alone A FRIGGIN' WARNING ABOUT A SYSTEM UPDATE...then you shouldn't be doing this sort of thing to begin with.

Put up my Wii U FOREVER.

Cancel my hacking part of the Wii U, until EmuNAND comes out for 5.5.1. Or even wait a few YEARS. IDK really.
So, erm...you wanna look up the word 'forever' in the dictionary before putting it in all capitals and bold to make a statement?

Your Wii U did not update as far as I can tell. So no need to freak out.

Put your Wii U away from anything that seems like it could conduct electricity and have patience.

i guess the wii u also download the update in the bg. like the 3ds does or not? like i used to have the update nag in my 3ds until i removed it using decrypt9 with inserting old ticketdb.

is there a workaround for the WiiU as well? like if it has the update downloaded and might nag every now and then or not? thanks in advance. (this never happened to me but just want to make sure).

For whatever reason I thought Hykem made this thread :o

maybe you think alot about him !

Yes, there's a program called remove_update, you can use it if you have a webkit exploit.
You can find remove_update in the libwiiu repo on github. ;)
