Guys i have some burning questions that i seriously need to be answered and i have tried googling and searching for all of them but i could not understand the answers to any of them. So please help me in answering them in a really simple language and in detail. Please tell me if there is anything missing in any of my questions so that i can improve them. I have a o3ds sysnand 9.2 emunand 10.3.

Q1- How do i install a version 9.2 browser on 10.3 emunand?
I have a Pokemon SMD on which i want to use spider qr codes but it only works on 9.5 and above and the qr exploit works on a 9.2 browser. Hence i need a downgraded version of the browser on the 10.3 emunand.

Q2- How do i unlink nands without losing any data?
I am having the unwrapping gift problem in my cias and the only way to fix this is to format the system in sysnand but i don't wanna lose any of my data in any of my games such as pokemon rumble world or streetpass puzzle swap.

Q3- How do i transfer everything including emunand from my 8gb sd card to a 32 gb one?
I don't want to transfer emunand separately. I want it all to be done in one go.

Q4- How do i make the sysnand load on pressing L on boot emunand on boot without any buttons and ctr boot manager on pressing R on boot?
Right now i am loading sysnand without any buttons and ctr boot on pressing L on boot.

Q5- How do i make the hbl cia work properly?
It gives me either a red or a yellow screen.

Q6- How do i change the color of the ctr boot manager from purple to black?
The pinkish purple color is annoying as hell.

Q7- How do i create a nand backup?
I've heard that they are very handy in case of bricks or something.

Thank you VERY MUCH.

I know it can be difficult to find the answers to questions like this, but trust me they will be out there! It took me a while, but I have been able to find answers to most of my questions so far. I'll try to answer some of these the best I can, but I'm sure someone with more experience might have some better answers for you.

A1: Are you talking about browserhax QR code? Or another one? The browserhax one will take you to the proper exploit automatically, and if you already have an emuNAND why do you need to use browserhax still?

A2: As far as I know there isn't a way to unlink without formatting either the sysNAND or the emuNAND. If they are linked, then you probably cloned the sysNAND to the emuNAND at one point, so your data should be saved on the emuNAND. Either way, just back up your sysNAND, or clone it to your emuNAND, then format the sysNAND (Or if you prefer you can format the emuNAND) and all your data should still be there, either on the emuNAND, or in your backup.

A3: Personally, I found it pretty easy to move over my NAND, then just do a drag and drop for the rest of the files onto the larger card. It doesn't take too much longer, and you can get a nice fresh emmuNAND set up. I have heard of people using the dd command on mac to clone the drive, but you may be able to use a free cloning utility like SuperDuper, and just clone the old drive to the new one, but I can't confirm this.

A4: I am using A9LH with CTRboot and AuReiNand so this kinda thing is pretty simple that way, but if you don't have A9LH then you will need to set up Menuhax to boot you into your emuNAND or your CTRboot. (Actually, I'm not 100% certain if you can autoboot to an emuNAND via menuhax?? But I think you can :P ) What I have is it's booting firstly into CTRboot, then I just edited my boot_config.ini (You can edit it in something like notepad or textedit if you want) to change what buttons I wanted to press to boot into certain things.

(From the boot_config.ini
";Basic usage examples:
;[KEY_R]
;path = /ReiNand.dat
;delay = 2000
;offset = 0x12000
;payload = 1") Just edit something like that in your file to reflect your requests.

A5: Maybe try a different .cia for it? Also, If you hold down X+Y while booting it, then it should update for you, this could be the problem?

A6: To be honest I'm not quite sure, I assume there is like a splash screen file or something within your CTRboot folder, check there and maybe just delete it? or replace it with something that you like? I could be completely wrong on this though.

A7: YES!!! This is super important, and to be honest I'm surprised you went though this entire thing to get an emuNAND set up without making one. My personal favorite is to use the 'Decrypt9 WIP' app. It is wonderful, just load it from the hbl, select the NAND options, then click the backup NAND option. It should create a sysNAND backup for you onto your SD card, which you can then copy to your computer. You can and should also backup your emuNAND, make backups before you try to do anything big (Like a downgrade, etc.) so you can restore it if something goes wrong.

Please note: If you brick your sysNAND, the only way to fix it would be to restore your sysNAND though a hardmod. (With the new A9LH there is a new way you can restore without a hardmod, but it is still very new, and I probably wouldn't recommend you go looking into that quite yet, at least wait till something a little safer comes around.)

Hopefully that helps a little?

Anyone, feel free to correct any of my incorrect information.

THX!

Regarding question 2, I understand your concern. I, and probably most people new to EmuNAND felt the same. However, there really is on reason to keep it in SysNAND even if it was possible. All your SysNAND will be is a slave for your system. When you set up EmuNAND, it'll have ALL the stuff you had previously, but rather than keeping it inaccessible from you deep inside the hardware, you can actually keep it on your SD card and swap it around. You'll never access SysNAND again, trust me :) Mos of us just set the system to automatically boot into our EmuNAND, and SysNAND is just never used again.

I have a o3ds sysnand 9.2 emunand 10.3
Holy moly you updated EmuNAND without unlinking the NANDs first!! WAOW that was quiet risky, cuz it could have updated your sysNAND, forcing you to downgrade again.

Answering your questions...

A1: So you might not even need to download spider 9.2 cia if you have the downgrade pack. Just goto that iso site, And see the name of the cia of your regions browser. Then in EmuNAND, open BBM/DevMenu and install it! Your done. QR Cloning is so much fun...

Uh...the NAND links are only the files on the SD card being stored inside the same set of folders...the actual FW partitions are still separate..

Q2- How do i unlink nands without losing any data?
Dump your emuNand using Decrypt9
Installed tinyformat.cia on your emunand and run it
Inject/Restore back your emuNand using Decrypt9

Q3- How do i transfer everything including emunand from my 8gb sd card to a 32 gb one?
Scroll down the first post:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/

Q4- How do i make the sysnand load on pressing L on boot emunand on boot without any buttons and ctr boot manager on pressing R on boot?
Check the guide which I've linked before.

Q5- How do i make the hbl cia work properly?
Download and extract the starterkit from the homebrew launcher site to the root of your SD.
Turn on your WiFi and launch the HBL.cia holding the "y" buttom (this must be done only the first time in order to be able to launch it without be connected to internet)

Q6- How do i change the color of the ctr boot manager from purple to black?
Dunno and btw purple is one of my favourite color

Q7- How do i create a nand backup?
Using Decrypt9

A lot of people have reported that they updated thier sysNANDs while trying to update thier EmuNANDs. These people had thier NANDs linked.

That's exactly what I wanna do! But I hope it won't load rxtools right? It will straightaway load emuband?

Well, the purpose of a CFW is to get you to your EmuNAND, so it will boot the CFW you choose, so rxTools, ReiNAND, Cakes etc, but all they do is bring you to your EmuNAND home menu.
