I'm trying to set up either Reinand or Cakes FW on my friend's N3DS as I've done this once before, but for some reason, it isn't working. When I try to launch Cakes, I get the message in the title saying "The firmware.bin you're trying to use is most probably not supported by cakes" despite downloading the firmware.bin for the N3DS from this link: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mid-kid/CakesForeveryWan/master/firmurln3ds

Whenever I try to launch Reinand, the screen just goes black. What's wrong? I have the necessary files such as Cakes.dat, Reinand.dat or whatever it's named, the two slot_xkeywhatever files, but to no avail. Alternatively, can someone just post a pic of their SD card roots? I find it hard to believe I've missed anything.

EDIT: Whoops, wrong forum. Can someone move this to the CFW section instead?

I exchanged the firmware.bin file with another one I had on my computer, and now I get the following message instead:

"Failed to decrypt the firmware

Please double check your firmware and firmkey/cetk are right."

I'm still getting nowhere

Did you download the firmware from the github page (0000001F), or the one from the CakesFW thread in the OP (
0000001B)?

No, it's the same problem as before. Do you know somewhere else I can get the firmware.bin file? This one clearly isn't right. I have a European N3DS on 9.2 if that should matter.
Check the cfw step in my tutorial, you'll maybe find a little link there for a complete cakes package, who knows?

The firmware files are different for Cakes and reinand. And also for rxTools for that matter. They are not compatible.

Reinand has the firmware file already included in the latest release.
