Oh boy thanks for the release man, that was the only missing thing in 3dshax ! No more crappy debug mode and flash color, that's awesome !

Of course it's basically a code-stripped version of *hax 2.1, that's the point.

The flashing colours and debug output do serve a purpose in terms of identifying errors. However, for those of us who are aware of and accept the fact that boot rate is not 100% and don't necessarily need the on-screen output to tell us that, then lesshax is brilliant. The clean display makes it seem like genuine coldboot.

Thats kinda off the point of lesshax, to remove services that isnt need by cfw so it increases boot rate and speed, genius if you ask me but ihaveamac did this already
Yeahhh, no. All he did was remove the debug screens and change the payload to direct to "less.3dsx."
Removing the debug screens does nothing to boot rate. Changing the boot directory doesn't either (people do this themselves by just opening it in Notepad++ and change 4 letters). Other people have already removed debug screens from the payload.
The point is that a removed debug screen does not warrant a whole new "release" thread and AdFly profits. And multiple people have done this before... for free...
But hey if you believe it really improves the boot rate, that's cool :)

I would agree that it doesn't seem to affect boot rate. It seems to take as long as ever.

But for me, having a 'clean' build without the debug output and directing to a different file name (allowing us to use Yellows8's hbloader) without messing with a hex editor is enough. I don't think it claims to be anything more than a *hax mod.

Adfly sucks, of course. It forces me to disable my script blockers.

i was just looking at the payload and its size compared to the others and its the same size. i would think if stuffs been removed it would be smaller, unless there is padding to make it the same size.

this does more than just "remove the debug screens", it also does things like remove services and more in an attempt to improve boot rate. similar to my attempt here in some ways.

on the wifes 3ds the boot rate for menuhax seems better than the 2.1 payloads but now the rxtool bootrate took a dive so i guess it evens out lol

Thanks a lot for the release! I can finally get rid of the debug words and the several color pages during my booting process. I don't care about the occassionally failed booting~

System version: 9.2.0-23J
Emunand version: region swapped 10.5.0-30U
Menuhax version: 2.0
Bootmanager: Ctrbootmanager v1.7

Here's what I've done: I downloaded the 9.2J payload file, replaced my orginal one on tf card with it, and renamed boot.3dsx into less.3dsx. Then it functioned well with no debug words & the several color pages. I can still use my ctrbootmanager to boot into HBL menu with properly set boot.cfg file.

Thanks again!!

Before this was posted, I was confused how to even use the 2.1 payload. Someone mentioned using themehax's payload so that's what I did.
This post is a simple way of being able to use the 2.1 payload without me trying to figure out how to use it normally. Nobody wanted to even give direct answers on reddit about it. So thanks for this OP

Gonna pass this onto all my noob friends who are on 2.5 payload.

tried and it's 2 sec faster than this for me http://ihaveamac.github.io/ninjhax2.x/
(26sec instead of 28sec, Eur 9.0 New3ds, latest theme hax/menu hax (don't know the difference) straight autobooting to gateway emunand, no ctrmanager or anything)

not sure if 2 sec was worth the trouble but thanks, I guess we'll see about boot rate success down the line (got 3 for 3 so far)

I compared the difference side-by-side with ninjhax payload and this one on two N3DS-XL. Both units have fw9.2 and uhs-1 sd cards from the same manufacturer (32gb and 64gb). The speed gain is negligible. The new payload loads the "corrupt" image ~1sec slower, but boots ctrboot for around ~0.5sec faster.
Don't know about stability, because the old payload did already work for almost all tries. No numbers here, I didnt make a statistics for it.

The payload does not modify your image in any way. That is stored in image_displaymenu.bin, and has nothing to do with this payload.
