Well i guess im gonna downgrade. Any other tips to the help me with downgrade?

While I've not downgraded any 3DSes myself, from what I've gathered, this can help:
1. Formatting the console before running the downgrade can help since it gives you a clean slate to work with (obviously, you'll lose all of your data, so use SVDT or something to back up the raw saves of your digital games, if you have any)
2. Using safesysupdater to check the MD5 hashes/checksums of your downgrade CIAs is a good idea, to make sure you don't have corrupted files
3. Using julian's version of sysupdater (not the same as safesysupdater) is the one to use for the best stability/chances.

You might want to wait for other opinions, especially on point 3. Just read up and be sure of yourself before doing anything.

Oh, and don't use the wrong downgrade pack for the wrong system/region (don't use a New 3DS downgrade pack on an Old 3DS/2DS, and don't use JPN/USA firmwares on an EUR console, for example).

Hi everybody, haven't picked up my 3DS in a long time and recently received a Pokemon battle I cannot turn down.

Regarding updating Pokemon Omega Ruby for Gateway 3DS, may someone kindly provide some directions (step-by-step if possible) on how this may be achieved? This is purely for the purposes of local wireless play.

I have a 3DS XL with GW3D 9.2.0-20E and Ver. 4.5.0-10E. I believe my Gateway version is "Gateway 3DS OMEGA v2.5b".

Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Could I get a quick sanity check to make sure I haven't missed anything?

I used to have a 4.5 3DS and a Gateway, but sold the 3DS as I needed the money at the time. I kept the Gateway, and now that I'm a bit better off I'm looking to get a 2DS. I've found one for purchase that's 7.1. Am I correct in assuming that I can just follow the official guide to get it all set up again?

What's the best way to prevent myself from accidentally updating 9.2 sysNAND even though I rarely go in there? Someone said to remove the wireless connection in there but that also removed it from emuNAND so that's not an option.

This is purely yourself not being an idiot: Never update your system unless you made 200% sure you're in Emunand. With ReiNAND it says Rei in front of the firmware version. You can change your theme at sysnand to something else than on emunand (mind that you'll need to re-install menuhax then) so you know where you're in. Make it clear for yourself when you're in sysnand and when you're in emunand.. Just never accept updates when you're in sysnand. Best way to do so: never go into sysnand again.

Thanks! Is there any reason the official guide has "- A 3DS on a firmware version between 8.x and 9.2" as a requirement? I can't see why the same exploit wouldn't work on a lower version but I've been out of the loop for a while.

e: I'm guessing that's just for N3DS.

Hi Guys i went through all the tutorial on https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/ sections 1-7 and then updated fw from 7.1 to 9.2e as stated under the 8 section tutorial and confirmed i was on 9.2E FW after the reboot, I then did the Menuhax section and had my 3ds boot into HBL during boot up, I then turned off my 3ds and i reconfigured the payload file to change it from boot3dsx to auto.3dsx for both entries, i saved it and turned on my 3ds but it does not go to the Menuhax on bootup, it goes to the dev screen and in settings it states fw RX-E 7.1.0-16E. There is a dev mode icon to unwrap on the main screen. Have i done something wrong?

I don't really have expierence with Gateway, but Nintendo did some few things that made some exploits "fixed".. The most stable firmware version is 9.2 so it's suggested to update to that.

So if I understand correctly, you're booting into a home menu and when you go into settings you see RX-E 7.1.0-16E? That means you've done almost everything right. You're autobooting into EmuNAND and that is what you want. In Emunand you can install .cia's and update your system to 10.5 (latest update) while leaving your sysNAND untouched. You need to unwrap dev and then you can install games. You've updated your sysNAND to 9.2 but as you propably made your EmuNAND still on 7.1, EmuNAND is also on 7.1. You can update using system settings to 10.5. I personally don't know much about Rxtools, sorry. Are you using am O3DS or N3DS?

Provided you have a backup of the emuNAND and either the saves are still on the SD card or you have a backup of the SD card, yes it's possible. You'll need to restore the emuNAND backup and you should regain access to the saves.

I didn't backup emunand before I had the issue, the only thing I have is the files on the SD. Thought it was a long shot, live and learn I guess :) Time to re-play oot for the 3rd time!

I am using a O3ds. Even with RX-E 7.1.0-16E can i play all the latest games. i had done the section O3ds 2ds Upgrade to firmware 9.0 - 9.2 and downloaded the 9.2 fw and it showed up in system settings. Does that mean sysnand = 9.2 and emunand = RX-E 7.1.0-16E?

you can update emunand to latest firmware without any problems to play latest games.

For what I understand from your post, yes. Go check in SysNAND system settings what it says there. I'm pretty sure your Emunand is 7.1 because of the fact that RX-E is in front of it, indicating you're using RxTools as Custom Firmware/

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

is there a way for me to access homebrew launcher ive got an o3ds xl here 10.1 no browser.

You can enter the Homebrew Launcher without a browser, but if I recall correctly, you would need a physical copy of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time or Cubic Ninja on order to prepare your O3DS.

Hi

If i downgrade my new 3DSxl 10.3 -> 9.2
Then create emunand and update Emunand E9.2 -> E10.5
will i be able to access (in emunand) the pokebank that is currently present in my sys 10.3 ?

Probably same question about nintendo account, eshop and friend stuff. Can i keep and use all of them in Emunand ?

Thanks for answer
