Long story short, I have two 3DS systems. One of them has all of the digital games I've purchased over the years and runs 10.1 on sysNAND with no CFW; Lets call this my legit 3DS. The other 3DS is my 9.2 system with CFW.

I'm curious if there's any way I can take the titles from the SD card and convert them into CIAs somehow from the already downloaded titles from my legit 3DS or not? I kinda don't want to go searching for all of these CIAs for these games.

FunkyCIA. Do a search of the forums and it should come up. You'll have to downgrade it to 9.2.

Okedoke, I already understand how to downgrade, but I'm also at a wall here. The payloads on Ironhax on my legit 3DS isn't updated so HBL wont launch at all on it, and the browser demands a system update before it can continue. Is Browserhax functional on 10.5?

You said you had 10.1? You won't be downgrading any time soon from 10.5 I'm afraid.

Edit: oh I get what you mean. You possibly might need to buy a copy of cubic ninja or ocarina of time to get into the HBL on your 10.1 machine. But I'm not sure. Try reading http://smealum.github.io/3ds/

Look in the tutorial section but I believe you can do some dns manipulation to stop the browser from throwing the update nag and use browserhax to install menuhax. The specific change required to make this happen is in the latest gateway guide if I remember correctly.

Oh dang, you're right. I just remembered downgrading was patched in 10.4. The legit 3DS runs on 10.1 though. Is there any other entrypoint I could use, or a way to at least revive Ironhax?
If you can get in once I think you can update the payload for Ironfall so you could use it in future. I think you'll have to buy/borrow a copy of OoT or Cubic Ninja from someone.

Edit: if you don't have ready access to CN or OoT then try what toto said, I didn't know about it!

Yeah, looks like I have to buy my way into HBL on this system. I can't block the nag because it's already shown up once.

Oh well, thanks for attempting to help both of you. c:
OoT would be the next choice since it will be cheaper and you have an exploited 3DS to load the save, plus it should be easy to resell locally instead of having to put it on ebay. Good luck!

Hi, I'm more or less in the same boat as him.
I have a N3DS, and before downgrading it I had quite a lot of downloaded games from the eShop. I have lots of backups of my SD card from before downgrading, However I can't access that backup anymore since I'm now on 9.5 rxTools.
I tried using FunkyCIA's GUI (CoffeeCIA) but it got stuck forever reading ticket.db from the SD folder.

Any ideas?

If you switch to Cakes or ReiNand you can update your emuNAND to 10.5 and redownload all your games from the eShop.

Thanks for the other reply. I guess I'll wait until rxTools 10.x. Most of my CIAs are out of region or hacks anyway...
Yes, you can dump them using the Gateway menu (no need for the GW cart) in .3ds format, then convert them to .cia. They won't be legit though (so you can only run them in a sig patched mode)
Carts and CIAs have their savegames built-in, afaik. When we dump a retail cart to 3ds, does it keep its savegame, or do we need to dump the save first with SVDT or whatever it's used?

The .3ds rom will still have the save (if it's like Pkemon where the save is stored on the cartridge) but I'm pretty sure it will be lost if you convert it to a CIA. I could be wrong though, if someone says differently feel free to believe them.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
