everyone that had the bongos said they worked fine trouhgh the wiiu adapter there were just some tweaks to make them more accurate.

GBA trough wiiu gc adapter will never work, its not possible, crediar himself tested and the adapter reads no signal trough the gba link cable so you would need to had chips and change the hardware of the adapter to actualy support those signals, the adapter is simply coded to read gc controller signals and turn them into hid and the bongos actualy send controller signals the gba adapter no.

Ah too bad, great about the Bongos though.

Ok, I've got a question that I've read conflicting things on, so I'll ask it again if things have changed: Can the bongo controllers and GBA to GCN controllers work on the Wii U through the GCN controller adapter for the system?

I've read that some but not all Kongo controller games will work, but some won't as they need to run native which as I understand it won't work on a Wii U, is this true? If so, of these titles on the Wii U, which would I be able to use the bongo controllers on? Donkey Konga (US), 2 (US), 3 (JPN), and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (US)?

In terms of the GBA to GC link cable on the Wii U, my understanding is that it could in theory it would work if there was some significant code change than what it had nearly a year ago, otherwise, it's the same situation as requiring to be run native. As such, I'm curious has any such coding change been made since this was first addressed about a year or so ago? I really would love to play 4 swords adventures with my buddies on my Wii U. GBA link capable functionality is just about the only feature that my old Wii has that my Wii U doesn't and as such is just about the only reason I still keep my Wii when my Wii U can do everything else my Wii does plus of course so much more.
I can't speak for the Bongo controllers, but I doubt GBA Link will ever work for Wii U, Nintendont is working under some limitations that will probably forever prevent that.

EDIT: Pedro beat me to it.

Hi guys, I am having a hard time with this one. Searched everywhere, but nothing helps.

The thing is, I have a classic controller (probably 3rd party), and it works perfectly on Virtual Console, but whenever trying to play a GC game in Nintendont, some buttons seems to be continuosly pressed, or being tapped very fast.

What I have experienced is:

Super smash bros melee: The defense button is always on, but not at full power, the red ball is transparent, and when I press L or R the color becomes stronger.

Jedi Outcast II: He keeps firing his gun nonstop

Super Mario Tennis: It always use a defensive shot

So, I guess is something to do with the R button, but dont know what to do. Maybe if I could map my classic controller I could work around this. Or maybe some diagnostic program to see which buttons are being pressed.

Please, dont waste your precious time saying that Nintendont dont work very well with 3rd party controllers, as I already know this, but I am trying to find a solution for this, giving up is not a choice.

As I have seem in gbatemp, someone once said that we would never be able to play Gamecube games on wii without the Gamecube controller. Guess what, he is a wrong MF that gave up too early.

Thanks for any help

3rd party controllers are not supported in Nintendont so it's not surprising that it does some funky things. The main developer doesn't have access to 3rd party controllers so unless people donate them to him, issues like those are likely here to stay.

I guess you didnt read my post till the end. I just need something so I can configure it, same way they do with usb controllers, I think I could workaround doing this. I know a little bit of programming, but dont know how to edit a Nintendont build and recompile it, and dont know if this is the best way to solve this.

I have not been able to get Nintendont to work. I get Error -13 under any boot.dol that is past 2.229 and 2.229 gets stuck at "checking fs." I hadn't seen much on google on this. It was an older hacked wii but I re-hacked it with ModMii a couple weeks ago. I have straight 1:1 iso's and iso's that were changed by DiscEx as well. Neither have worked. I have followed the instructions to a tee. Nintendont is in sd/apps/Nintendont. I have tried to load the games off of SD and my USB. My SD is a PNY 128 GB micro SD and the USB is a Sandisk Cruzer 128GB 2.0. Both are formatted FAT32, 32k cluster and the USB is even FAT32 0x0b. The games are - USB/games/gamename/game.iso. I still get the error. I can play Wii games on WiiFlow from SD and USB. Any ideas? -Thanks

Hello, first of all, welcome to GBAtemp :)

Your version is outdated. Go grab the latest build from the first post, replace the boot.dol, and delete the setting.cfg.

Make sure Nintendont is up to date, you have the XML file for it, you're running a more recent CLEAN Homebrew Channel, and you have the latest CLEAN IOS58. Also, the Wii has issues with flashdrives.

Thank you for the response. I had tried the most recent boot.dol from the one posted and that had given the same error. I then tried working my way back to see if any of the older boot.dol's would work, but it gave the same error. I had been loading Nintendont through HomeBrew without a USB loader, it also gave me the same error when ran through CFG and WiiFlow. It also didn't work using a Nintendont Forwarder. I don't have a setting.cfg in CFG or in Nintendont. Did I miss that somewhere?

Okay, I have the xml file for it. When you mean clean do you mean unmodded? I just have a regular homebrew at version 1.2 or something like that. I used the latest ModMii a couple weeks ago. I will have to check the IOS58 to see what version it is, I don't know what ModMii installs. I had heard the wii has issues with flash drives but I saw this on the compatible list. It plays Wii games from it as well as the SD card. I will look into it.

I meant "unmodded" as a version that wasn't messed with and is the original.

I had the same problem. Verify if your partition is set to primary, not logical. Thats was my problem, may be yours too.

Hi, This is my first time on this site and I have an issue about trying to get my external hard drive to hold gamecube iso's for Nintendont. (Sorry if the problem I'm having is really obvious). Okay so my problem is that I run windows 8.1 and my External Hard Drive is currently formatted to FAT32 (I used WBFS Manager 3.0 to do this), but the problem is that I can't create a "games" folder to add my iso's to because I can't access the FAT32 format. Is there anyway that I can add a games folder and insert the iso's into it while still being in FAT32?

what? lol if its on fat32 you can just plug it to the pc and acess it...
wbf manager makes drives in wbfs not fat32... and yeah you cant change wbfs format drives.

As long as it's a USB-HID device, then yes. (Most likely is.) You can test it with the homebrew application in the thread.

I want to confirm that this adapter works right out of the box in case that someone wants to buy it. I bought it and just plugged it at the usb port and didn't have to do anything else. Thanks for the response. Keep up the good work.

wbfs drive is an outdated practice.

put your entire drive in fat32 then make a wbfs folder on the root and put wii gqames in wbfs format in there.

Having a problem with Nintendont. It works great as a standalone program, but I want covers for the games instead of the text list.

I tried cfg usb loader (newest) and I get a failed to load kernel error.

I tried wiiflow 4.3.2 Abdullah mod, and I get a black screen after selecting a game.

Both programs show the games, let me download covers, and change settings. cfg loader doesn't seem to save those settings, I just can't play.

I don't know off hand which nintendont verision I have but if this was a known issue and an update fixed it I'll find that version. I would prefer to get it working on Wiiflow. Thanks for any help.

Please verify that you are using the 3.385 version of Nintendont before going further.
