Looking at that change.log it appears little went right. Native firm didn't install, which is bad. It might be a better idea to upgrade to 10.3 then try again.
Might want some other people to chime in on that change.log for a second opinion.
Yeah, based on the time it took till it crashed I already expect that. So which sysUpdater do you reckon is the best for the process since there are a few hundred to choose from (or so it seems)

That's a tough call, maybe safe safesysupdater? You've barely downgraded so it's hard imagining anything going right. Updating to 10.4 might be your best option.

I hope you mean 10.3 :rofl2:
He doesn't I guess and I don't think he is wrong. Going out of this with a non bricked N3DS on something <10.4 seems truly unlikely. Based on how quickly it crashed chances are that no matter which way I go it will crash again.

I'd say re-run the downgrade. There is no point in upgrading because you still have access to memchunkhax2. At the same time, the downgraders currently uninstall your titles right before installing its respective older version. That basically means upgrading would be a waste of time.

Well if you a get soft brick you'll have the opportunity to go to 10.4 anyway.

Well, from what I understand sysUpdater will simply install the cias over the existing ones while "upgrading". The downgrade option on the other hand uninstalls the title first and then installs a new one.

... and in case of a hard brick I could try and get the shop to replace it since I just got it today. I would feel real scummy about that tho.

Yep. I believe you are right. But why upgrade to only have it be removed anyways? See where im getting at? XD

I downgraded my unit to 9.2 and everything seems to work, however using the downgrader check in this thread I have some weird anomalies. I see one title ID for amiibo (I assume because I came down from 9.9 and 9.2 had no support it's an extra title) but the others I'm not sure about.

Title ID 0x0004009b00010402
Expected version 0x1002
Installed version 0x1402

Title ID 0x0004003000009e02 (amiibo)
Extra title

Title ID 0x0004001b00010802 (all I could find was dummy.txt)
Expected version 0x0000
Installed version 0x0400

Title ID 0x0004013000001b02 (GPIO System Module)
Expected version 0x0800
Installed version 0x0c01

Title ID 0x0004013000001a02 (DSP System Module)
Expected version 0x1400
Installed version 0x1801

Any thoughts?

Well, I thought that maybe 10.3 would be a more stable base for downgrading than some hybrid between 9.8 and 9.2. Although I guess there is not much 9.8 in there.

My advice would be to change nothing unless somthing is not working. My o3ds got some non downgraded titles too but none of those seem to affect anything. So rather than risking a brick you should just keep them in mind in case an error occurs.

That looks like a pretty good downgrade so you should be safe just running sysupdater again for a clean up job.
fanty's advice is good as well.

well if it's new you got your 14 days return poliy in germany. update to 10.4 so it's not faulty. return it and buy it elsewhere and try again

Actually I would need to deliberately brick it and then return it with the premise that this is the state it came in. The 14 day return policy only works for online purchases which this one wasn't.

aslong I know it also possible in local store, but not for games / movies etc. I just asked my mother and she told she does it often with clothes and electronic devices.
and I don't think they will look at the version number ... only if it's working or not.

Based on my experience with the shop I bought this in it's quite a gamble. If you get the right person there I guess your mom would be right.

Is your 9.2.0-20U pack containing 102 files? (N3DS)

Only 2 packs I found/had both have 102 files and can't find those 4 title ID's.
104. (correction) Only 0004009b00010402.cia is in my pack. (from the pakrett thread on iso)

I suspect the new3ds pack is just incomplete because those other 3 titles are supposed to be there and at the indicated version.
The 9.2.0-20U new3ds title list for that downgrade check homebrew comes from my system, which is a completely clean 9.2.

The nice thing is those titles are not new3ds specific so they can just be added from the old3ds pack.
