im currently on 9.5 emunand (US N3DS), can I update using system setting while on my Emunand?

regards

So I installed ReiNand onto my 9.2 emunand and I'm coldbooting it with CTRBootManager. Here's my boot.cfg. It SEEMS to boot up fine, and shows the splash image I set for it when booting. Thing is, I can't find an indication that it's running beyond that; once I get into my emunand and go into system settings, the version isn't prefixed with anything; it's simply labeled 'Ver. 9.2.0-28U'. I intend to update this emunand to 10.4 (this is an N3DS), so I'm honestly hesitant to do it now without any indicator. As far as I'm aware, there should be one, so what gives?

On reinand 3.1 there is no rei string anymore.
Trust me, if this weren't your emunand, reinand wouldn't start at all. If it boots through its emunand. You can also just control it by for example changing layout in Emunand, then booting to sysnand and seeing it is different.

Are you using the most recent 3.1 version of reinand?

If so then that is why. The ver string code is broken atm.

I strongly suggest you apply a unique theme to your emunand and rearrange the icons as well. This will help you ensure you are inside emunand before you update.

If you read back, the string Rei was left out of this version... Soooo, if you go past the ReiNAND splash screen and enter emuNAND you can safely update using the system update feature (assuming your nand's are unlinked)

I'm very well aware it's booting into my emunand, I'm just confused abot the string not being there is all.

Are you using the most recent 3.1 version of rxtools?

I'm definitely in emunand, just making sure something didn't happen. I'm not chaining RxTools and then ReiNand; I abandoned RxTools entirely at this point and I'm only using ReiNand, so I'm not sure how that would affect the ver string being broken.

Mind if I ask why?

Typo, I meant the 3.1 version of reinand lol

I'm using the latest, yes. Should I not be? If I were to use 3.0 would it prevent a 10.4 emunand from working?

On that note, I updated emunand properly. Thanks for the clarification, all.

10.4 SHOULD work on either 3.0 or 3.1. Personally I would say use 3.1 since it uses the newer 10.2 native_firm rather than the older 9.6 version

Yet again, the answer was just one page back...

And yet again, you complain when three people successfully provide me an answer within two minutes. I'm sorry that I didn't know it was a common question in a fast moving thread, but that doesn't mean you need to act entitled about it. Make a FAQ if it really bothers you that much.
