Hi sorry for the noobie question, but since the N3DS can be downgraded and a CFW installed I thought I would change from my old SKY3DS and use CFW instead.

One thing, if I for example change the size of my N3DS internal card to a 32GB, do I need to keep removing it to install CIAs? If so is there a possibility to put the CFW on the original and use my SKY3DS as the SD slot and have installed CIAs on that?

Sorry if it doesn't make sense, I have not really followed much of the 3DS scene since getting my SKY3DS.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Is it possible to get an OFW update through Tubehax DNS? My N3DS asked me to update and I checked the Tubehax DNS where in place and set to manual...

I have a sub 5.X Original 3DS and a sky3DS, what is there to do to run CFW? I'd like to hack this 3DS to use for a backup :D.
Follow this guide to set up rxTools.

Yes the N3DS can be downgraded. A guide is available here.

It is possible to put cias on the N3DS's mSD without removing the mSD via a network transfer. However, it is very slow to do this and I don't recommend it. If I understand correctly, you're asking if you can use the internal mSD card for OFW and the Sky3DS's mSD for CFW? You could, but there wouldn't be much point. You wouldn't be able to do much on pure OFW as you wouldn't be able to update your 3DS without losing the ability to access CFW.

Hi, thanks for the response!

Actually, I would like install CFW(so I can create sys+emunand) onto the internal mSD and keep this inside the 3DS always. But then use the mSD inside my SKY3DS to put CIA files. Is this possible?

You can't play cias directly off of the Sky3DS, they need to be installed on the internal mSD to work.

Hello,

Relatively new to 3DS hacking/homebrew so I have a few questions on what I should do next.
My O3DS was on 10.3 and I followed a guide and now I'm back down to 9.2

Question now is what should I actually do? I've heard stuff about RxTools and Pasta but I'm not sure which way I should be heading.
Also ever since I downgraded, browserhax doesn't too to work anymore? I tried the same thing I used when I was on the 10.3 but the browser just errors and crashes every time I click on that volume bar.

If anyone can let me know what I should do next that would be great. Thanks!

RxTools is the way to go. A guide can be found here.

As for Browserhax, have you tried clearing your browser's cookies and cache?

Hi

What is the recommendation if 3ds XL is on firmware 9.0.0?
Should it be upgraded to v 9.2 before using browserhax?
and how do u go about upgrading it to 9.2?

Also which CFW should one install? and what is the difference between them?
I see the three common one are
-pastaCFW
-cakeFW
-rxTools

Also what is the biggest microsd 3ds support, and which brand/model is recommended?

is it possible to somehow use my old DS r4 or ttds to play old ds games on 3ds?
It depends on how old your flashcart is. If it used to work on the 3DS, but was blocked by a firmware update, you can use flashcarttimewarp to make it work again. Flashcarttimewarp can be found on "some iso site." If it never worked on the 3DS, there is no way to make it work on the 3DS.

Try using the Homebrew Launcher to launch EmuNAND9 instead of the browser.

There's not much difference between 9.0 and 9.2. Everything for 9.2 works for 9.0 as well.

If you wanted to update to 9.2, you would need to use SysUpdater and Pasta CFW or rxTools' devmode/pasta mode. Again, there's not much point in doing this since you're on 9.0.

Pasta CFW is a very limited CFW. It does not support emuNAND and does not use firmlaunch to spoof the 3DS's firmware version.

Cake I don't have any experience with. I believe it is a more lightweight CFW which supports emuNAND and firmlaunch.

RxTools is a CFW with a ton of features. It has FBI injection, xorpad dumping, game decryption, options for launching with or without firmlaunch and a few more features. It also supports emuNAND.

RxTools is generally considered the best CFW for the O3DS.

What if I have New 3DS XL, is rxtools still the recommended cfw?

Also where can I download 9.2 firmware?

I jus downgraded to 9.2, but I'm dumb and I forgot to install 9.2 payloads for OoT3DHax, HomeMenuHax, or Ironhax and now I'm locked out. Browserhax doesn't work (blank page), Ironfall fails to launch and OoT3DHax restarts the 3DS...

Any help?
