I have a birthday coming up, and I want to see if I can get a N3DSXL. It will obviously be on <=10.3, so:

What's the success rate for downgrading the N3DS to 9.2?


Say it's on 9.3-10.2. I know the chances of having a successful downgrade is higher on 10.3, but how likely will I have a successful downgrade on those firmwares?

At this point downgrading is boiled down to user error. Follow the steps exactly, correctly and you will downgrade successfully.

Or you are just unlucky and end up with softbricks that can only be fixed by a format.

Did a 9.5 last night. Softbricked on the first downgrade so I updated to 10.3 and it worked great. So it is still a bit flakey about which firmwares it will downgrade from.

Another option would be to chill on 10.3 and see what Gateway cooks up (and see if their downgrade method is any better than sysUpdater).
