Once you have your emunand set up and updated to 9.5, and have installed the updated NVer, you should be able to just run FreeMultiPatcher and then launch system settings and go to set it up that way.

Ok, I'll do it tomorrow and see what happens, I have never used freemultipatcher. Before I was getting the Hans error code when I enter the eshop and then when I got your Hans fix it was giving me the NNID not linked error code when I go into the eshop.

Keep in mind that if your nnid is linked to your sysnand still, you might have problems linking it to your emunand. Not sure how to go about resolving that problem if it comes up.

As for it being "my" fix, all I really did was revert to a slightly older version from around late November.

I just checked my sysnand and when I go into NNID settings it asks me to link a NNID, so I would assume it's not linked to my sysnand. Then I pop onto EmuNAND and go into NNID settings and it spits out an Error Code: 022-2634. So what I would do is run "freemultipatcher" before going into my NNID settings on EmuNAND and it wouldn't give me the error and I would be able to sign in and link?

Is 022-2634 the "Update the damn console" error?

Not its "your already signed into this NNID"

I see, then at this point I do not know what to tell you @mungry. The NNID service and how it handles linking and sign in/out, particularly the lack of an ability to actually sign out, is a royal pain in the ass. My only suggestion is to try calling nintendo and tell them your younger sibling/cousin managed to format your system and you are now unable to sign back into your NNID.

From what I understand this is occasionally a valid consequence of formatting a system and Nintendo is fully capable of (and often more than willing to) remotely unlink a NNID. They will need your NNID account name, email address, birthday, and some purchase/payment info to verify. Any demos or games you have downloaded at any time will show up in their records and can be named if they ask you to list some purchased content to verify the account.

So what does that even mean? How the heck do I get my EmuNAND linked with my NNID....
I just noticed in your signature that you have two 3DS systems, are you trying to sign into the N3DS with the same NNID you are using on your O3DS? Because you can only link a NNID to a single 3DS system.

Okay so from your first response they can't tell I'm on EmuNAND or anything suspicious when they unlink my NNID? As for your second response, no I made a brand new NNID for my n3DS when I first got it. When I downgraded to 9.2 I took everything off my SD card and put my SD card back into my n3ds (a Nintendo 3DS folder at root of SD was created) then I went about the whole cfw installation and also unlinked my nands.

Nah they can't tell. They will handle the unlink on the server side and send you an email when its done. It sounds like what I described is exactly what happened btw, the process of downgrading/formatting cleared the link on the console side, but not on the NNID side.

Okay, thank you for clearing this all up for me! Hopefully Nintendo will give me that unlink!! ;)

I have a couple of questions. First, does this require NANDs to be linked? Second, Does this require a NNID to be connected on both sysnand and emunand?

Dunno if it'S normal but I did all the steps and NVER + Tiger .cia failed to install

I then went with the free multipatcher and configured the spoof and was able to access Eshop

N3ds on Emunand 9.5 NA

hope this question is ok here. I have a new n3ds on 9.9 out of the box and wish to downgrade to 9.2, should i update to 10.3 first and create a nnid?

Yes

Once you do create an ID and sign in make sure to do a system format then do the downgrade, do no sign into the ID only sign into it on Emunand.

Nands do not need to be linked, and personally I recommend you never keep your nands linked unless you have some very specific reason to and were told to by someone who knows your specific situation. NNID should only need to be connected to the emunand if your nands are unlinked.

If both NVer and Tiger failed to install and you were able to access the eshop then you must not have a NNID linked.

A NNID must be linked in order to purchase or download anything from the eshop and NVer MUST be updated in order to sign into NNID. Tiger and/or HANS are actually only needed to be able to download content. You can still open and access the eshop without them, but you will get an error when you try to access a content page or download anything.

Please do not create an NNID before downgrading. This is probably what is causing the 022-2634 error. People are downgrading systems with a NNID linked, but the downgrade causes the system to lose its link to the NNID. Unfortunately this loss only occurs on the system side and Nintendo's servers still list the NNID as being in use on a 3DS system, which is why you get the error when you try to link it to emunand.

So what do i need to do then

1) link NNID then install NVer and Tiger?
You need to install NVer first (and you might as well install tiger while you are at it). You wont be able to sign into or link a NNID otherwise. Please do not use FBI to install. Use sysupdater or DevMenu. FBI requires you to manually delete/unintsall the existing (older) title before installing the new one, where as sysupdater and devmenu both will overwrite the existing one.

Can you give me a quick tutorial on how to install Nver and Tiger with sysupdater or devmenu then?

DevMenu works much like FBI, for sysupdater you just put the cias you want installed in a folder on the sd card called updates and then run sysupdater
