Takes a while, but I think I just managed to downgrade mine after.. a day. Keep trying, but don't do anything silly

Oh dear... and just to triple check, the folder is supposed to be called "updates" in lowercase right?

used julian's sysupdater as the other was stuck on step 5 everytime. installed all cias. got stuck on "will reboot in 10 seconds." never rebooted so i did it manually. black screen with only power light now. soft reboot doesn't seem to work. seems like a. recovery boot doesn't work. n3ds on 10.3. still within time range to exchange at walmart so that's the plan for after work.

fyi tried w/ and w/o the sd card in booting into homebrew, booting into recovery, and just normal booting. black screen everytime. anything else to try before exchanging?

But yeah, if you can't get to the recovery menu, it's bricked for good.

yeah, julian's didn't show the steps, but saw several posts saying they had gotten it to work on nds so... silly me. it gave me the prompt to downgrade. showed all the cias being installed and got to the reboot screen. owell. guess i'll wait for a confirmed safe for nds guide

You said it was stuck on "step 5", that's what I didn't get.

Are you sure you used the N3DS cias?

I think the more I try to downgrade my New 3DS, it will develop antibodies and resist the downgrade if I keep doing it, possibly leading to the advancement of the robot species and the downfall of the human one.

...Or just work just as little as it did the last time, I'll go with that too. But I always get the "error occured" kinda brick which is fixable with safe mode update. Is it the CIAs I'm using? The MD5 sum of my 9.2.0-20E(Full)_n3DS.zip is 6dcca8fcbc9a28c82c2a4e5182f3acf8, as it should be.

Okay because I can get SysUpdater to start pretty reliably but it always fails at Getting file information :/

Make sure you are using the correct version of 9.2 for your N3DS and region. Also use Terafile to copy, and check the MD5 when the Update zip is in the SD card.

Ironhax isn't always working, menuhax worked here.

Same as always I suppose, the CIAs are supposedly being installed, system reboots (or not, so I wait 10 mins and power cycle), black screen for a bit and then bottom screen shows "An error occurred". Then I fix it with safe mode.

Try to format your SD card before trying again. Some people did it and it worked.

Just to help. I tried two times to downgrade yesterday. Both "failed" because after the installation of cia ect... Reboot, "An error ocurred" had to restore 2 times. Then I've formated my 3ds. Reinstall my hax for easy acces.
I launch homebrew launcher -> ftp -> exit ftp with B, two times -> launch the sysupdater of julian from page 95. Worked on the FIRST launch, no error, everything's ok ! On the FIRST try after formated my n3DS. So maybe it's the best way !

Now I have a question, I made a save of my nand via gateway launcher this morning, and format emunand after that.. What can I do now for CFW ? I didn't understand what is "best" CFW for n3DS. And how to go emunand 9.5 ect.. ?I mean, can I go online, eshop with my 9.2 and a cfw ?

I downgraded my EU O3DS from 9.9 to 9.2 yesterday, but it seems I can't install rxTools. Is there a way to find out if the downgrade was successfull?
EmuNAND9Tool worked, I already backed up my NAND, also EmuNAND is working, but not the installation of the CFW. Homebrew is also no Problem with browserhax.

Now I'm wondering if I would have to update to 10.3 and then downgrade again or if I could just run sysUpdater on 9.2 to "fix" my problem?

Can nobody help with this?

If all else fails, try to format SysNAND before downgrading, it helped another member here.

I'm not sure what is going on... Hopefully someone can point you in the right direction.

If no one does, you might want to try and downgrade again (?).

Just did this, and awesome. Got back to 9.2 and then was able to restore my initial 7.2 NAND to the 2DS I accidentally upgraded to 10.3!

I tried to take the Google survey to help out but the thing's broken and keeps saying I missed a question when I filled everything in.
