Hacking Is it safe to upgrade my firmware/games for my sky3ds?

Hi, sorry in advance for not doing a lot of research but I've been abroad with the peace corps for about a year and I'm coming back for a few days and I just wanted to see if I could update my firmware/games and still have a functioning sky3ds cartridge.

I have the blue button and I'm on firmware version 9.5.0-22U right now, being able to play online is pretty unnecessary for me as I don't have wifi the majority of the time. However, if I could play purchased cartridges (legit copies) online that would be a plus.

you should just update to 10.3 and turn off your WiFi on your 3ds then wait for Memchunkhax2 to come out so you can downgrade to 9.2 and get a cfw for your 3ds

Yes, you can update your 3DS to 10.3 and keep using the Sky3ds.

You can even download updates from the eShop and they will work with the roms in your Sky3ds.

That does seem a little complicated, I'm not sure if cfw is something I need or can maintain with super limited internet access.

well if you use something like Ninjhax or Menuhax you can boot into a cfw without needing a internet connection and then you can install games directly to your home menu then you don't need your Sky3ds. you just need a converter and then you can convert all of the .3ds roms you have to .cia
