Hacking Question about R4 3ds. (Pokemon related)

Hello,

I am sorry if this isnt the proper place to ask it.

I am using the r4i 3DS for some older pokemon games like white 2, and i am soft resettting for a shiny, however since my L and R button are dead (legit dead no dust) i am using the r4 reset option (it brings you back to choose what game to play).

I am well over5k resets now (with shiny charm) and i was wondering if this counts as a soft reset, or if i am wasting my time.

Else i might consider a new ds!

It's a hard reset, yes, it counts. Good luck with the shiny.

1 more question, on white 2 (the SR fire) i get a communication error, and i have to shut down the ds (or rom) and reboot it, is there any reason why this happends? (C gear i think it is).. I happends both on a normal 3ds and the new 3ds, kinda frustating sometimes!

When i keep the C Gear off nothing happends ofcourse, but anoying nonetheless.

I don't play Pokemon, so I can't tell you I understand what you're talking about. All I know is that shiny Pokemon are rare and that your soft resetting is actually hard resetting. It's the same thing. But it takes much more time. So, I'm sorry I couldn't help with that.

I did play halfway through Black 2, I played X, I played ORAS. I had to do the same thing you did with White 2. My R trigger was busted. I got my shiny in an excruciating 23,450 SRs. That's why I don't play Pokemon. The odds are too far out of hand.

The odds in X/y and ORAS are way better though (Especially with shiny charm)!

I know everything about that and Pokemon. I just don't know anything about Black/White. Anything older than X/Y, I don't know anything about it.

Smarter than me, for sure. I gave up on Pokemon. I find it kinda boring and tiresome. Bit, I'll give it a go again.

I'm the type of person to power through it as fast as possible. My work is all done at home. I usually sit and play games unless needed. I have many hours of free time.

Perhaps you can try spraying some WD40 between the shoulder buttons? Here's a pic to help you understand

See that little gap between the shoulder button and the lower body of the DS? That's where you want to spray it. It should work on all 3/DS/i models. I've tested it myself and it works.

My button is gone i have nothing on the right side anymore!

im almost on 10k resets x2 (using 2 ds with r4 and no shiny)

I am still worried if this works or not rip xD
