Well he added texture packs support, minimap, and a few other things so whose to say that he won't add more gameplay mechanics?

Well the next beta build will be the final one. I probably won't be adding anything else after version 1.0 (except bug fixes), since I want to work on other projects. The source code is available; if anyone wants to make a mod of the game.

Alright, so I'm still working on Beta build 5. I am almost done with the zoomed map feature. The map will have 3 zoom levels: x2, x4, and x6. You can drag the map around by using the touch screen. You can use the plus and minus buttons to zoom in and out of the map. The position of the player is marked on the map and updates in real-time. You can exit the map by pressing the red [X] button at the top-right of the bottom screen.

You can see it in action here: https://vid.me/zysU

I can't really give a release date just yet, as creating the "How to Play" menu is turning out to be pretty time consuming. I hope to get this done by Monday-ish, but no promises.

Wow. I like the Map Zoom Feature. When the Exit Button and the Zoom Indikator have the same design as the +/- Button, then it is perfect.

Edit: The How to Play Page is pretty nice too.

I like it, it looks really smooth when you move the map. :D

Good news everybody, beta build 5 *might* be released later tonight! I just have to finish up some things, and it will be ready.

I'm just here to warn texture-pack makers that they need to update their texture packs to include the new icons for the zoomed map as seen here:

There are the zoom buttons, exit button, and the small icons for the player and air wizard on the mini-map. Yes you will now be able to see the air wizard on your mini-map to see where he is.

I'll attach the updated icons.png and the default starter-pack on the main post is already updated.

Beta build 5 is now released for testing. The game is now feature-complete! (as in I won't add any more features after this)

This update isn't big at all, the two main features is the tutorial menu and the zoom-able map. To use the zoomed in map just touch the mini-map on the bottom screen. You can drag the map around using the touch-screen. You can zoom in and out using the (-/+) buttons on the bottom-right side of the screen. To exit the zoom map, just press the red [x] button on the top-right of the screen.

This is the last beta build before version 1.0, so I need people to help me find bugs and crashes that could still be in the game.

Change Log:
Beta Build 5:
* The game is now feature complete!
+ Player's icon now shows up on the mini-map
+ Added a zoom-able map to the bottom screen. Touch the mini-map to show the zoom-able map.
+ Finished the "How to play" menu.
+ Added a "N3DS Speedup" option in the settings menu for New 3DS owners to enable the 804 MHZ mode. This option will be grayed out for people using the Old 3DS models.
+ Added 2 new button menu inputs (Next and Previous) that are used in the "How to play menu", the default buttons are L and R.

+ Added a "N3DS Speedup" option in the settings menu for New 3DS owners to enable the 804 MHZ mode. This option will be grayed out for people using the Old 3DS models.
USA New 3DS XL on 9.9 here; the "N3DS SPEEDUP" option is grayed out on my end. I've definitely got a New 3DS.

I was really hoping that wouldn't happen. I'll look into it.

Edit:
Ok, so I forgot to call the initCfgu() function in my code. It should work now. Try the newest build (Beta build 5.01) @Vague Rant
