Not sure if this is a problem for others but recently i've had the issue of accidently pressing the power button on my New 3DS XL with my pinky or ring finger which causes the "software closed" menu to pop up which ruins a lot of games for me mainly games like Pokemon,Monster Hunter,Shovel Knight, and Yo-Kai Watch where you might play for a while without saving. Is there a way to remove this menu from Sysnand or is it completely controlled by hardware?

This might do the trick:

No, there's no homebrew which supports this.
Probably there could be one (HBL 2.5 disables the Home-Menu Button / Replace the Home Menu with a Screenshot-Button.
I'm talking about something in the CIA format that can be launched in Sysnand and run in the background to block the applet from running if the button gets pressed.

maybe some tape would do the trick.
you might need something rigid under the tape though to keep the button from depressing.

btw - nobody's going to code something like this for your special use case.

Just wondering if it can be done, maybe it's something as simple as deleting a title in Sysnand

I don't know of any CIA format ones, but I used to have the same problem with my old 3DS and the best solution I came up with was folding tissue like a strip and taping it near the power button. This helped a lot when I had to EV train pokemon back then in Y.

I doubt someone can make the powerbutton mod because HB is more likely to fuck up every now and then, and since the battery is a pain to remove, and the power button being the only way to save it when it freezes.

I'm not saying disable the button completely, maybe the menu that pops up when it is pressed can be blocked/removed.

Thought of saying HANS, Now that you mention it, I just realized how this is a big problem on HANS, turns out if you press the power button for even 1 second, it powers it down compeletely.

Make a guard, its easy and less invasive than messing your system files.
Just use some double sided tape and some rubber, or just some glue. Now I am posting that Sky3DS picture directly:

I addressed this problem in a less evasive way, I used a product called Bondic to create to sort of a guard. I suppose you could use glue or epoxy to create something similar. You would just have to build it up in layers and make sure you didn't accidentally glue the button stuck :) Since doing this, I haven't accidentally hit the button yet.

But but but..His issue isn't the Sky3DS, it's the 3DS in itself :P

Also I think he uses gateway seeing as to how the mentioned the options he could perform, like running CIA

Wouldn't the solution be to not press the power button?

Sometimes, especially in fast moving games, you can bump it accidentally. That happened to me last night when I was playing StarFox. I got to this one segment where you're fighting this skeleton thing with a tank, almost had it dead and then the "software closed" menu popped up.

I had my rage face on after that. My wife giggled at me. She thinks my rage face is cute.
