I want to update my emunand to 9.5 but I'm confused about which version to use. I've heard that 9.5.0-23E causes problems? Is that true? I can't find a download of 9.5.0-22E anywhere, including on the website of ISOs.

I'm on N3DS XL fw 9.0.0-20E sys/emu at the moment.

Cheers

I have some questions :

1- About SD cards, if we want to upgrade or change, can we still use the old one or will the new one have to be the only to be used ?
2- If we can use many SD cards, is there a limit/drawback to using many ?
3- About roms and online play, what is the difference between Online-Ready and Online-patched
4- How are you today ?

1. You can use both old one and new SD on the same 3DS, just fine. Only if you format system memory/remove NNID, the 3DS starts anew so date on your old card is no useablethe same as before.
2. If you play same game on those too many card, you lose too much time for the same stage (your gaming skill may get better though). I think your online record may be messed up (if the game is online related). Also may risk a ban for cheating (?). Not so sure.

Is there a possibility that there will be a "hack" for download play where it removes the region lock on download play?
This is useful for triforce heroes.
I have a Japanese n3ds (GW) and it can only connect through online and local, not download play.
I also have a U.S. 3ds (GW) that can do all types of connection.
Also, I have a U.S. 3dsxl that is not gateway'd that can only do download play.

Dumb question. Is it legal to sell the physical copy of a game I've made a backup of so long as it contains no online content?

Another dumb question. Does CFW effect the sysNAND in any irreversible way?

I'm looking to buy a N3DS, but it says Gateway emuNAND is already installed. I'd like a way to verify that everything was done properly and the only way I can think of is to revert to factory settings and do it myself.

Is that possible?

1)Is legal to sell the game, keeping the backup is considered piracy since you no longer own the game.

2)No, you can make a NAND backup and rever it any time, CFW files are always stored in the SD card and you can delete them at any time too, so is like you never had a CFW, anyways with rxTools + emunand you don't even need to touch your sysnand.

3)Emunand is just emunand, there is no wrong way to install it, there is nothing more to do than selecting the option to install it, you will be wasting your time to be honest.

1)You can use as many SD cards as you want as long as you don't format your system.

2)Some games like Pokemon or Smash Bros save data in the SD card rather than the cardtrige so you should play those games with the same SD card.

3)It depends, cia installed games in emunand are always online ready, if you use roms in Gateway/Sky3ds you have to patch the headers to not get banned.

4)I'm doing great ;)
Hello everyone, I want to purchase a Sky 3DS flashcard. I don't know which website I should purchase from. I live in the US and have an American New 3DS XL. Which one has the best price and is the most reputable?

Chipmodsdirect is the one I usually buy my stuff from, they ship quickly, ship from New York and you get your stuff in about 5 days.

Is it possible to mess up the sysNAND during installation is really what I'm asking. I know people accidently insall files to sysNAND and I'm wondering if any modifications can't be repaired. I'm buying from somebody else, that's why there's the paranoia.

Thanks for your response :)

Watch out for downgraded MSET N3DS. If you reset system memory on a downgraded MSET N3DS, it will brick N3DS. People may also inject wrong CIA into SYSNAND which may cause minor issue also. So opened box console carries some risk (new sealed console also carries risk of manufacturing defect). Accident happens, so make sure you buy from reputable seller with clear good return policy in case something wrong. When you receive the console, test it extensively within the returnable period.

Check out the Trading Section on this forum. Members here may be more reliable when you buying modified/CFW installed/ opened box N3DS.

If you are buying the 3DS already modified from someone else, ask them if they have a nand backup and can provide it to you in the same SD card.

YOU CAN DO IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO THE NAND if you don't know what you are doing and are messing with the wrong files, but if the 3DS is working properly you should be able undo anything modified.

I'm probably just being stupid, but I can't find the trading section.

And is there any way to tell if a N3DS has used an MSET downgrade or not? So far all I asked for was proof it was running on 9.0U.

If you are buying the 3DS already modified from someone else, ask them if they have a nand backup and can provide it to you in the same SD card.
Will do.

Unused US N3DS XL should have a paper plane demonstration video. Downgraded MSET 4.x doesn't have NNID settings (compare bottom screens of these 2 picture: http://www.maxconsole.com/maxcon_forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=37158&d=1421080649 and http://nintyshroom.com/uploads/images/3DS Nintendo Network Settings.png ). Downgraded MSET 6.x is more trickier, I would suggest you install MSET 9.x on the any N3DS you buy just to make sure (you can find the 9.x MSET CIA on that common forum). I will ask whether you can install MSET 9.x using latest FBI so at the moment just stay put.

Edit: Other member confirmed you can use latest FBI to install MSET 9.x on N3DS by setting to install Mode:NAND Destination: NAND.

Update: other members are sayig Format System Memory with downgraded MSET won't brik the N3DS. So it's your call, I didn't experience this myself to be able to confirm.

https://gbatemp.net/categories/trading-area.157/ is the Tradng section. There's a requirement of post numbers before you can see it (I don't remeber how many posts is required though)

Thank you for your response. I googled that and I didn't find the website. It's that meant to Modchipsdirect or something else?

Question: how to tell if N3DS XL has IPS screen or cheaper screen? I remembered seeing one of that "how-to" thread before. Now I can't find it anywhere, only demonstration thread.
