Which revision of gpsp works on o3ds using .cia format? When i try to load a game up it freezes using the newest revision. Also the GUI in general for retroarch takes a little bit to load up now too.
I am using 10/16 in my O3DS. 10/17+ works really bad.

Are you using CIA or 3dsx? Do you have a bios in the correct folder?
Yes, im using the bios. I tested 16-17-18-19-20 .cia and .3ds on 10.1 Emunand today, and only the 10/16 .cia works fine for me.

Its like Dynarec doesnt work in the newest builds, i dont know x.x

Your using .3dsx? How many frames for tekken?
Only 12fps but it's enough for me to play

OK, so on the subject of the FBA CPS-2 and Neo Geo cores and their regression in compatibility for 3dsx users, aliaspider said this was due to increased RAM usage of RetroArch, which should become less of an issue once ninjhax & friends 2.5 are released and allow more RAM in homebrew.

However, in the meantime, this means a number of large-ish ROMs which used to work in these cores no longer do, such as the X-Men/Marvel fighting games on CPS-2 and Metal Slug 2 on Neo Geo.

Since nightlies on the buildbot only go back to October 13th (seemingly after RAM usage increased), it's hard to tell when exactly it happened. I don't grab nightlies every day, so the next-most-recent version I have on me is 2015-10-02_RetroArch.7z, on which the Marvel games and Metal Slug 2 work. As such, I'm attaching the cores from October 2nd here.

It's very likely that there are somewhat more recent nightlies which still work for running these games, so if you've got a nightly between 2015-10-03 and 2015-10-12 which works for these games, you should probably use that instead (and maybe upload it for the rest of us if you feel like it).

Thank you for this!
I think this is great idea (I'm on 10.1.0.27, New 3SDS, .3dsx) because I was as well disappointed with CPS2 and Neogeo emulators right now.
If some earlier versions worked better for CPS1, CPS2 and Neogeo roms they should be posted here until compatibility is fixed in newer versions.

Is there any difference when running Ninjhax 2.1 and Themehax with Music App trick if you're running CPS2 and Neogeo Cores?
Is Ninjhax better in running those cores?

I checked CPS2 compatibility and it seams improved greatly with this older core version, almost every rom worked except mvsc and couple of others.
On the other hand, Neogeo doesn't seam to work any better, I still cannot run any MetalSlug rom and I tried with couple of rom versions and couple of Neogeo.zip file versions without much luck.
Do you know what could be the problem?
Could you please tell me what particular Neogeo roms work for you with your older Neogeo version of emulator (core) so I can check them also and confirm if it's work or not?

I'm running it on n3ds, 10.1.0.27e with Ninjhax 2.1 or Themehax just for the record.

@vladagaja24, First off I'll say that Marvel vs. Capcom (mvsc) works fine here, so I'm not sure why it doesn't on your end.

On Neo Geo, I can run basically anything the size of Metal Slug 2 (mslug2) or below, which covers a wide range of games. Bang Bang Busters (b2buster), Captain Tomaday (ctomaday), Puzzled (joyjoy), Metal Slug (mslug), Neo Bomberman (neobombe), Nightmare in the Dark (nitd), Street Hoop (strhoop), Zupapa (zupapa).

If you can't get any Neo Geo games running at all, it does seem most likely that your neogeo.zip is the problem. I believe neogeo.zip for Final Burn Alpha does have a few more ROMs in it than the MAME equivalent, so getting it from a MAME ROMset probably won't work.

I posted the ROMs expected in neogeo.zip by Final Burn Alpha earlier in the thread, so here it is again under a spoiler:
These are the Neo Geo BIOS ROMs expected by Final Burn Alpha 0.2.97.30. If you don't have these, your neogeo.zip is probably wrong.

Using the newest (20/10/2015) nightly .3dsx, it seems that none of the cores are able to detect any of my battery saves or save states. Is anyone else encountering this? I've tried re-specifying the saves folder under Settings > Directory, but it didn't have any effect.

Edit:
Reverting back to the 17/10/2015 nightlies, saves load again.
