Most people in the rom hacking section should have some kind of experience with it. Maybe try to ask there if you haven't yet.

So what happens if I'm using my Sky3DS with a few games on it and a new template comes out...i assume i gotta load the new template using diskwriter but what happens to my already saved games with save files. does any of that get messed up at all??

I've some noobish questions about system transfer..
I've a original Ambassador 3DS fw 8.1 without NNID and a New 3DS fw 10.1 with NNID.
And I saw a spanish video showing a working 10.1 emunand, using the rxTools.

1. If I install that rxTools emunand in the Ambassadored 3DS, the emunand retains the ambassador games?
2. If yes, can I do a system transfer the ambassadored emunand to to my New 3DS sysnand and keep the ambassador games in the old 3DS sysnand?
3. If before the system transfer I install an unsigned cia in sysnand of the ambassadored, can I keep it in the old and the New 3DS after the transfer?
4. Can I uninstall the emunand and keep my ambasador games and unsigned cia in the sysnand of my old?
5. And can I do a System format in my New 3DS to unlink the NNID, do a system transfer (Ambassador to New) and relink my NNID to the New one?
6. If yes, the relinked NNID will retain my ambassador games and unsigned cia in the sysnand of the New?

You can extract your save from the cart with SaveDataFiler and then import it to your SD for the cia version

iv got my 3ds back from my cousin and it has been a year since i tried anything with it , if i got it right confirm or correct me if im wrong (i didnt want to start a tread just for that )

im on 10.1.0.27u on a old 3dsXL

themhack/oothack for homebrew (i read that retroarch was not that good on the old ds
my r4sdhc 2014 seem to still run .NDS without a problem.
sky3ds is the flashcard i should get since that emulate a real card so i could technicly play any backup and i may get probleme for online with header or something , cause each game got its own header i think .

did i miss something ? is there other possibility ?

You can only use Sky3ds on 10.1 for piracy. However, newer Nintendo games do not work on it. Yes you need your own private header
Themehax will help you boot HBL, as will any other exploit entrypoint. Retroarch is ok, not 100% though.

sup tempers, been a while since ive been on here, i rediscovered my 3ds', and i stupidly updated one of them to 10.1.0-27u cuz i got all excited for some reason and only after did i realize i should have come here to check first, anyways.....am i totally screwed? do i just stick with gateway at this point? Is the hack at the level what the DS hack was?

What i mean is, with the DS i could go all out with homebrew and piracy (try before you buy is what i say), am i right to assume the same can be done with this hack? Or is homebrew the only thing possible with it (for now)?

I have another 3ds (original launch day version) thats still on version 7.x something so if i have to i can use that.

i have two because i was hoping to mod one for homebrew and original roms and ones i like i can buy for my non-tampered 3ds.

Unless you have a nand back up of 9.2 or under, you cant pirate on the 10.1 3ds. You can still use homebrew.
the 7.x 3ds you can do anything with. Dont update past 9.2. Update to 9.2 Set up rxtools and themehax using the guides here

Hello, looking for some assistance with the R4i Gold Deluxe 3ds.
Carried out and installed beginning of last year, all games work great with the exception of super smash bros.
My sons sysnand for his 3ds is 4.5.0-10E and reading over the last couple of days, it seems that there is some form of spoof software which enables the 3ds to play newer games.
I have installed a few different versions of the launcher dat but currently running with 4.02b.
If someone could point myself in the right direction, would be much appreciated.
Oh, and to top it off, I cannot find the blue card as it has gone missing.
Please help.

Just install rxTools + emunand an update to to 10.1 (EMUNAND), that will be the easiest way to get all the games that require a higer firmware.

Unsure why I would need to install rxtools when I already have the gold deluxe which plays older backups, could I not just install emunand, or am I being a total idiot.

I have never used the Gold Deluxe, but from what I have read Gold Deluxe is a Gateway clone right? And it's support was dropped some time ago because they couldn't keep up with GW's security? (I'm talking from the top off my head here, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

Anyways, what I'm getting to is: You can just install emunand and update it all the way to the latest firmware with Gateway and it would work alright as long as you are using their latest launcher.dat file, but if Gold Deluxe is a clone that it's support was dropped long ago you could only update to the latest emunand before they dropped support.

Installing rxTools now days is as easy as copying the files into your 3DS, you install emunand and feel free to update it to 10.1

I'm pretty sure Gold Deluxe won't have 10.1 emunand support if it's a dead clone by now.

R4I-SDHC.com doesnt work anymore so I dont know which kernals or firmwares or files i need to download. Theres a billion R4's out there and dont know what to use. Im using a N3DS XL on latest firmware which supposedly this flash card works on. Im also uploading some pics of my stuff. Any help PLEASE??

Is it compatible with the WOOD firmware?
